My DH is active duty National Guard and just found out that his unit is being deployed to Iraq for 19 months in Feb 04. This I am used to, he has been deployed before. We are planning on going to WDW in 18 days for our family christmas/vacation (as we do every year) and now his leave may be cancelled. We knew he would be getting deployed so this vacation was going to be our last for a long time, also it is the first time with our 1 year old daughter. Please send some pixie dust our way that we will be able to go to Disney and enjoy our last few months together. Please don't get me wrong, I know going to Disney is pretty small in the big scheme of things, but it really means alot to us. I am used to the deployment, as I am sure every military wife is. Also, he is HR so he will not be anywhere near the front line (which is a blessing) So say a prayer, send some pixie dust, whatever you can do so that his leave isn't cacelled!

I understand what you are going through. My husband was on alert to be deployed after 9/11. We were going to disneyworld for Christmas. He told me to go ahead and take the kids, which I did. Mine are alot older though. I am really hoping they let him go on leave. We are praying for your family. I don't care how used to deployments you are used to each one is very difficult. Remember everything in the Military can change at the last minute.

Our family was in the same situation last January when my husband got "the call". It will be sad if you must cancel, but you CAN celebrate his homecoming! My husband just returned from Iraq a few weeks ago. Knowing that we were going to Disney upon his return really helped our family survive some tough times.
Our letters and e-mails were filled with talk of the fun times we would have together at WDW.
