I am so confused....what do most people wear for SEMIformal night? I've got FORMAL night covered and also my "casually dressy" resort wear stuff for other nights, but not sure about the SEMI night!

Are folks wearing tea-length formals for this? Are they wearing suits? Are they wearing the same stuff from formal night? :confused3

I've seen posts and pics of formal night, but can't find semiformal info.
THANKS
Chris

I will bump you on this one because I'm as confused as you....What EXACTLY is the difference between formal AND semi-formal?

I wore black slacks and a white blouse...felt right in place with everyone else.

Don't sweat it. A lot of people wore their formal wear with less accessories, men wore jacket and ties, and a lot of people didn't even know it was semi formal night. Our table guests were dressed to the nines for formal night and asked us why we were so dressed up on the semi formal night.

I wore a long black skirt with a sparkley tank style top. DH wore a button up shirt with Dockers. We fit in just fine!!! My sig picture was the night we went to Palo and celebrated our 5th anniversary!!!!!!!

I have a black tank dress that came with a sheer jacket - I wear that on semi formal night and then the same dress and a sequin jacket on formal night. Since the guys (DH and 3 DS) have their suits they were them with silk knit t-shirts (crew neck short sleeve very light weight sweater type shirt plus no complaining about wearing ties).

I wore casual dresses on regular nights, and then dressier ones on both the formal and the semi. Both were tea length, but I wore a black one for formal. However, I didn't pay lots of money for either, just nice.

DH wore khaki pants and polos for the casual nights. He wore his suit for formal night and then shirt/tie for the semi. Oh, yes he also wore pants. ;)

DS-13 did the same thing, although he only wore the suit jacket until he sat down at the table!!! I'm glad I borrowed that one!!!

I am wearing a dark, midnight blue suit for both formal and semi formal nights....I will wear a different shirt and tie for each night...

Also, many people were the same clothes for formal and semi-formal nights. DH brought a black suit and tie, and just wore different colored shirts. I wore a black cocktail dress both nights.

Thanks all for replies....here's my ideas, let me know if it sounds OK:

1. I have a long black formal for formal night
2. I have another long black formal w/a fancy shawl (was going to be formal night....now not)
3. I have a short (tea length) black formal (was going to be for semiformal night)
4. I have a regular black knit dress (I take on every trip anyway and love)

Now I am thinking of taking #1 and #4 only and the shawl from #2...this way I can wear the regular black dress w/the shawl on semiformal night and wear it w/a sweater on a regular night if I need it. Is that OK?

Sounds perfect!! It seems you have a plan that will not only dress you perfectly, it will control that urge to "over-pack"! I think you have a grand-slam formula working!

Have a great trip!
