Hi we are going to lose *** points if we dont use them by ******, as we are not going next year we dont want this to happen, so wondering whether we could sell or rent them out?

not sure how it works, so any advice greatly appreciated!

There are several ways to rent your points. You can contact our Rent/Trade board sponsor, David's Rentals, or you can use our Rent/Trade board , though you don't have enough posting history, so a small fee would be required.

Basically, you do not rent out "points", you make a reservaton for a renter using your points. If they want to add a DIning Plan, you'd also need to do that for them, and they would need to pay you for the plan.

Another option would be to transfer the points to another DVC Member, they then, inessence, become the other members points, and they make the reservations.

FOr more infor, please read the sticky "Required Reading" on the Rent/Trade board. You may also find these older threads helpful, but keep in mind that our Rent/Trade rules have changed some since these threads were posted.

Considering Renting...?

You may also try renting them to friends, family or coworkers. Sometimes your own social contacts are the easiest to deal with. Of course, sometimes the opposite is also true. ;)

i rent ours whenever we cannot use them and if you need any advise on how to do it, feel free to email me and i will show you the way

have never lost points

Since you are in the UK, you have to consider the additional phone calling expense as well. Do you have a toll free number from the UK?

For those that have rented points before, what is the feasible range of points that would be deemed useful for renting. I'm assuming that if you only have 16 points that are at risk of loss, that is not feasible because it would only rent at most one night... or am I not understanding?

Not necessarily. Someone might need just a one night rental. Or you might transfer them to another member to help them complete a reservation. But in general, yes, I'd think most people are looking for more points.
