can any one comment which is better, worse or same?

I've been selling on ebay and it's not going that well, so thought I'd ask....

thanks!

people don't pay, ebay still charges me, paypal take a hunk of change, etc.

For Individual sellers who expect to sell less than 40 items a month
Fulfillment by Amazon Enabled
$0.99 per sale + referral fee

On Ebay you can sell preowned things. On Amazon, it has to be new. Im a powerseller on Ebay so I cant sell on Amazon since alot of my stuff is preowned. Amazon is great to sell on when you have a hot item (like around Christmas time Amazon was OOS of the Monster High dolls, but buyers were paying 2X and 3X as much from the sellers) It depends on what you want to sell

I've sold several of my dd's college textbooks on Amazon, so not everything has to be new. Overall the process was easy and efficient. They also verify the sellers by phone before they allow the account to be set up.

Cancel the transaction or file a non payment complaint and Ebay will refund the final value fee.

Maybe books are an exception? I know you cant sell preowned Clothes, Toys.....If amazon has the same product it has to be new for those things

If someone doesnt pay within 4 days, You can file a non payer complaint. They buyer gets a couple days to pay and If they dont, Ebay automatically refunds your listing fee and selling fee

I sell on both. You can sell used items on Amazon... not clothes, but toys, books, DVD's etc.. I just research to see where I can get the best price before I list something.

I am but it's hard to get hold of ebay.

over a week and no reply. and no refunds on listing fees.

I've pretty much had it with ebay. 4 items these past weeks, and NO PAYERS. time and money to post and for nothing :(((

DId you file a claim? It takes just a click to do it. Go to My Ebay and look at the item sold that was not paid for. To the far right you should see an Option list for that auction. Report a problem and click did not pay. Thats all you have to do. If they dont pay, Ebay automatically closes the case and refunds you back, you dont have to do anything else. Its automatic

I didn't think Amazon allows "private" sellers.

You can post your items on craigslist maybe.

Yes they do. Toys, books, dvds etc.

Amazon requires you to accept returns for any reason. They also don't reimburse you enough for shipping I have been told so you need to build that into your cost.

I have no bothered because I refuse to take returns on ebay. There is too much room for fraud.

The "returnable for any reason" policy at Amazon can be a problem if you are selling textbooks.

Twice I've had a buyer decide to return at the end of the semester!

I do sell other books on Amazon but for textbooks I use half.com

4 non payers is a lot! Have you tried calling or doing a live chat with ebay? They've been responsive whenever I have contacted them.

paypal take a hunk of change, etc.

How does Amazon accept payment? Chances are whoever you use will charge a fee.

Etsy has a section for Vintage items, but they also use paypal.

On etsy the item has to be over 20 years old for their vintage category. I also find that to succeed on etsy you have to do a lot of self promotion.
