Selling - Have Blue Card Questions

This seems like a lot of work. No need for a Florida license. Purchase your land and use the address for a savings or checking account where you have paperless statements. This is really the minimum you need to provide to get the Florida passes.

If you knew someone you trusted that lived in Florida, you could do this with their address and avoid having to buy the land at all.

Not sure that will work without an address.
When we built our house in FL we had to beg the post master to give us an address. We couldn’t even get cable because our address did not exist.
Very interesting either way! To be clear I'm not looking to do this but I got to thinking about it when my car salesman was telling me about how he's got both a NY and Florida license and how he bought land in Florida when he was there for college years ago for $1000 that's only worth $2000 now lol. And when I look up plots of land for sale there really are cheap parcels and they seem to come with addresses even if no permanent structure. So I got to thinking if it was possible. Now personally I'm not sure I'd want to own something far away as I'd be nervous I'd be liable for anything weird that may happen on that parcel of land...I'm a bit nuts like that...but I guess it could save you a good bit of money on Floridian passes if you were out of state and were able to go this route.

In reality I, like so many others, wish I had jumped on Florida real estate when they were basically giving it away but alas...

No more colors…we have DVC Y and DVC ND.
Are you sure about that? Yes we no longer have physical cards but if I go to print out a temporary card it is blue with DVC Y. I assume those that do not have enough qualifying points printing out a temporary card would still show as white with DVC ND being added.

Except you don’t need to have a blue card in MDE…you can use any design you want…

That was what I meant…my son used a different MDE design yet has his DVC Y designation.

Yes in MDE you can pick but if you print out a card it will be blue or I assume White. In other words blue card /white card is still a thing just not as prevalent without the physical card

I think since the DVC Y is what is used to determine it, iMO, it’s confusing to still use the whole blue card vs white card terms.

technically, an owner can have both types of memberships…but all that matters is the digital card with DVC Y.

Yes that is true that it boils down to the temporary card or digital card containing DVC-Y or DVC-ND on whether a person qualifies for Membership Extras. Again I was just addressing your statement of "no more colors" because I believe that to be an inaccurate statement and maybe someone that is a resale only member can inform us what color they have when they click on "View My Membership Card" and click "View Temporary Card"

They don’t call it a DVC card for non eligible memberships. It’s called an identification.

But, IMO, those terms are outdated and don’t reflect what is currently in play, especially since not all CMs will take the printed card.

You must show the back of the digital one, which doesn’t have to be a blue card. As I said, my son does not have a blue DVC digital card.

And the reason I think using the term is confusing is that there are owners out there who don’t realize it’s on the back of their card, no matter what the design.
