I'm planning to sell my DVC interest and was wondering if anyone could suggest the best way to do it? Broker vs. FSBO vs. eBay?

Does having available points allow me to charge more per point?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I wouldn't know about more per point but I can guarantee you'll have a much easier time selling than most as a lot on the resale market are borrowed out as far as they can.

Why are you selling?

It's none of our business, but if you don't mind sharing, we'd be curious to know.

How quickly do you need to sell? If you are in a great hurry then you should list with a resale broker. If you've got some time on your hands, try FSBO. We bought our resale from an ad we found on the TUG website and had no problems. It would save you the 10% commission (or more) that most brokers charge. You'll still get the same amount per point that you would listing with an agent thanks to ROFR. What is your home resort? That will also determine how fast it will sell. OKW, VB, and HHI sometimes take a little longer but everything on the resale market is selling like hotcakes now that DVC has increased the price per point for SSR.

Also, are you sure you need to sell? Have you thought about just renting your points for a year or two until your ready to use them again? Take a look at all your options before you make the decision. Good luck!!!

Thanks for the great replies.

When we bought, we lived in San Diego and we were visiting WDW for 10-14 days every year. Now that we live in Tampa, we've OD'd (Over Disneyed).

When we tried to do an II exchange, we found that all of our choices (any Caribbean and Australia) were not available. We've been looking at Hyatt and Marriott as an alternative and thought that this may be a good time to move on.

Years ago I tried renting points, but didn't have much luck so I hadn't considered it. Now that I'm back on the boards, I see that it's almost become an industry. Maybe we'll go that route instead of selling. Less chance for the inevitable seller's remorse.

Thanks again for the advice. I would've never thought of TUG as a marketplace.
