Selling DVC points

DH and I have been thinking of buying a condo down in the Disney area. I would not need all of my contracts if we did do this so my question is: Do you only sell DVC through a resale company or can you sell back to Disney?

Disney does not buys contracts directly, they only sometime exercise ROFR when someone sell a contract on the resale market.
You don't have to use a broker to sell a contract, but it's hard to find a buyer on your own. You can try Ebay, but there contracts seems to go for a lower amount than through a broker.

In the past, DVD has selectively purchased contracts back from owners. However, the amount they were willing to pay was well below what those resorts were selling for on the resale market and they were NOT pruchasing contracts from all resorts.

It can't hurt to ask, but be prepared for a real lowball offer from DVD if they are interested at all. It has been several years since we have had any reports of offers from Disney and at that time I think it was only BWV and BCV they were making any offer on.

That would be a very safe and efficient way to go, IMO. Good luck with whatever you decide!
