I am selling some of my children's old books on a Facebook marketplace. What is the going rate for used books these days? Trying to figure out how to price them! For example- Junie B Jones and American Girl books in great condition

50 cents a book?

Hardcovers sell for more than soft and if you have a lot of the series I would group them together and sell them like that, then you can price it a little higher. For example, if you have books 1-5 of Junie B Jones you could probably sell the softcovers for $4 and hardcovers for $5. If you just have a bunch of misc. softcovers you probably won't get more than .25 each so I would suggest selling them as one lot instead.

want to make a few calls and think about donating them.

DD collected over 2,000 books for a GS project last year. Homeless shelters and afterschool programs for inner-city kids love to have them. They send them home when kids get a new home, or over a long vacation to encourage them to read.

Just a thought.. otherwise, I agree. 25-50cents is about all we would pay for a book unless it was something we were really looking for.

Good luck!

The Junie B's sell well at the kids' consignment sale I do 2X a year for $1 each paperback.

This past year I sold probably 300 childrens books on a local buy-sell-trade board on FB. I sold all my junie b jones books for $1. They all sold, with several others wanting them as well. Nearly all of the "leveled" books sold for $1. The younger preschoolish books, I sold like 6 for $5. SOme of the nicer hardback books I sold for $3ish each. I had NO problem selling them and getting what I asked for them.

I highly recommend donating them to your child's school. We LOVE when parents donate gently used books. Our school puts them in the staff lounge for the classroom teachers to put in their class libraries.
