Has anyone sold a timeshare, either on your own or with one of those companies you see on TV or online? We have one that we'd like to sell -- I know we wouldn't get out of it what we paid for it, but I talked to one of those companies, and they thought we could get a decent amount (about 50-60%) for it. What has been your experience? Any help is appreciated!

We haven't but my in-laws tried. Most of the companies they tried to deal with wanted money up front, for things like advertising and overhead, some in the neighborhood of $400 and up. They tried to sell privately for awhile and gave up. Theirs was the early time share plan, they owned a particular week in Williamsburg. I don't mean to be discouraging, but I think a lot of the companies who deal in these give you a best case scenario. I think like anything else, if you have a good/flexible time share and a willing buyer, you will be able to get something for it. My in-laws eventually just let it go, letting the timeshare company know what they were doing so it wouldn't affect their credit rating. Their fees had risen to a point where is just wasn't worth it to them, and they retired, so their income was reduced and fixed. This isn't very encouraging; perhaps someone else will have better suggestions for you.
