I have definitely found that being nice, making it clear you understand that you are asking for them to make an exception to the policy, and explaining the situation **almost** always ends up with some accommodation by Disney. And if it does not, and it is important, calling back and asking a cast member who is having a better day often works as well. My daughter has a chronic, debilitating health condition that has caused us more than once to have to change plans at the last minute. We ALWAYS buy travel insurance for this reason, but to date, for Disney vacations, we have never actually used it. We are certainly prepared to use it whenever needed and continue to purchase it no matter what, but I've found Disney, setting aside a few cast members, often really does what they can to make their customers happy. I am glad you found one of these cast members on your second call.
