Sell me on visiting Hilton Head DVC

I grew up in South Florida and have never visited another beach other than a Florida beach. Please sell me on visiting the Hilton Head DVC. I have never been to the Vero Beach DVC or the Hilton Head DVC. I think the Vero Beach resort looks like one I would like to visit but I live closer to the Hilton Head one. If I am not going to be able to go to Disney World yet and am wanting to throw in another quick little vacation (if possible), I'm thinking of Hilton Head. Keep in mind, none of us are golfers. Is this something that would interest us? Why? In the Spring?

Hilton Head is a laid back area with some of the finest eating and beach walking. If you ride bikes...you take the shuttle over to the Beach House and ride as long as your legs will last on the nice hard sand. Also the heated pool at the Beach House is great. Big Murky's Den is nice with story telling and various things/ pool table and such. I have never had a bad visit there unless it was unusually cold during the stay. The shopping areas within walking are nice also. Many happy memories of all our trips. The wildlife refuge is really worth going to /or kayaking close by is good. Enjoy.

Hi,
Hilton Head is our "home away from home".
We have been members of DVC since 1996 and although we have visited almost all of the other Florida DVC homes, including Vero Beach, we LOVE Hilton Head!!
It is just a relaxing, laid back vacation.
We're going again July 17 to 24th.

Anyone else going to be there at that time?

Count us in as another family of HHI lovers!! We have been twice- last year with family, many of whom were from Florida. They all LOVED it- they felt like it was just such a beautiful place. The trees are amazing, they are so large and old and gorgeous. To me, HHI is like no other place i have ever been, and it combines a beach vacation with much, much more because of the marsh. The nature that surrounds you is astounding- we ALWAYS see dolphins while we are there, and the birds are beautiful, too. Kayaking is great. Love to ride bikes- my kids like riding the bikes there more than riding them at home, i think, because of all the bike paths. And there are soooooo many restaurants to try- the hardest part is picking which ones to go to every year! We had a change of plans for our summer vacation, and are able to go again this summer- we'll be there the week of August 9th- can't WAIT!!

I just wanted to mention that last year they told us the best time of day to crab is when the tide is changing- if you ask the naturalist at the resort, they will tell you EXACTLY the right hour- we've seen some nice big ones come out of the water at that pier!
