Sell me on Owner's Locker

The DIS discount states it is ending soon, but doesn't give an exact date. Anyone know when it really ends?

Thanks!

I'm also looking to be sold on OL. If we flew to WDW it would be a no brainer, but we typically drive. We have a WDW bin that we typically take with us that remains packed similar to OL. Granted, it would be nice not to have that room taken up in the SUV, but since we aren't worrying about checked luggage fees DH and I are having a hard time justifying

Is there anyone else out there who typically drives that can help convince me?

You can order it and if you don't like it the offer a money back guarantee :thumbsup2 - I loved the idea and DH was fairly sold on the idea but the idea that if we didn't like it it wouldn't have cost us anything was great.

We loved packing up the locker at the end of the trip knowing that we didn't have to cart all the stuff home and store it until we came back again.

It wasn't baggage fees for us as we fly in from the uk and get 2 checked bags each and the most we have ever had was 5 on the journey home (for 3 of us). This time we flew out with 3 very full cases and went home with one half empty and the others considerably lighter.

I like not having to remember these things next time :goodvibes

OP here. Over the weekend I found a plastic tote in my basement that was the same size as an owner's locker. I have been studying your lists and tossing things I will need in the tote. It's fun to see what you'all bring!

I purchased a few duplicate things as well. Now I just need to decide whether to cart it all down to WDW in August in an extra piece of luggage or ship it via FedEx or UPS.

Thanks again for all your advice. The DIS is the best!

I finally jumped on board yesterday!:goodvibes Now I have to start making a list of stuff for my trip in November. We will be driving this time so it will be the perfect time to fill it!
Thanks for all the info from everyone here on DIS.

We drove to Disney for the 1st time 2 years ago and we are going to continue doing this to save on airfare. We just joined OL today in fact. The reason why we did this is because we have a small car/suv(Chevy HHR) type vehicle and 2 kids. This is going to save us a TON of room in our car. Both children are in carseats and take up the whole back seat. So we need every bit of space in our car that we can get. We also decided we're going to rent our stroller from their sister company Magic Strollers. For a family like ours with a small vehicle OL and Magic stollers makes a ton of sense and is worth every penny.

I also looked at the OL as a huge time saver for me personally. I'm the one who packs the whole family up for traveling, and if I don't need to go out of my way to remember toothpaste or deoderant, or ponchos it's a big help to me and worth the money I'm going to pay to have it stored down there. With the kids being 2 and 9 months right now we're going to be traveling down at least once or twice a year. I feel it's definitely worth it. To get back to your question as to driving I feel any extra space in your car is better this way if you do some major shopping down there you have extra room to bring stuff back lol :).

Again I haven't used mine yet since I just joined today, but I already have my list of stuff that I'm going to pack in there and never worry about again until it runs out. I hope this helps you a little with your decision. Just remember the discount ends at midnight tonight. :)

Have a look at the video on the Owner's Locker splash page. That couple (Ron and Kathy) always drives down. They have a pick up truck and it's just the two of them, so they have plenty of room. They give some neat reasons why Owner's Locker makes sense to them. I particularly like the part about the champagne glasses...

Thanks for all the responses, but still don't think we're ready to take the leap.

Is the DIS deal still going on? What are the details of that deal - I thought I read either a wave or reduction on the membership fee and a two times per year visit? Does the two times per year visit count for after the first year?

I'm this close to doing it but wasn't 100% sure of the deal.

Okay.... y'all sold me. Just signed up at the last possible hour!

Same Here - signing up just two minutes ago. We ended up doing the mousesavers discount instead of the DIS since we won't be going twice in our anniversary year for the next 2 years.
