My wife and I are considering going down to the Orlando a day early and staying at the Nickelodeon Hotel.

My children are a 7 year old boy....who is absolutely infatuated with SpongeBob and a 2 year old who likes Dora.

Thinking about getting there around 9, hitting the pools, seeing the shows. The next morning hitting the character breakfast and then heading over to DW to start the vacation.

The Nick is about $250 - that includes the $25 hotel fee. I just can't pull the trigger on it. I know my son will love the slides, the pool but what else is there to do around there. Is it really worth that much money? TIA

Well....We stayed here when it was Holiday Inn Family Suites and it was very nice then.

However I am one of those people that ALWAYS check the bedbugregistry to see if where I want to go is listed. So I will just tell you that you need to check out the registry report for this hotel before making any decisions....go past the first review and read the rest.... it's www.bedbugregistry.com

Depending on when you are going and what website you use you can score for $125 a night plus resort fees.

I'm a fan of the Nick, I've never paid to stay there (use dpoints) but would pay for it even if it was $250.

No matter what you pay if you go having expectations that the places is a luxury resort you'll be sadly disappointed. If you go with the idea that the kids will love it you'll enjoy the place.

All the shorties in our gang think the Nick Rocks, and for them it does, so then for us it does. The food is OK and they sell enough booze to make me happy, go and let the kidos live it up.

Definitely NOT the adults favorite place to stay!! The kids have always loved it, but simply for the water park areas and characters. The hotel is SO run-down and surely wouldn't be worth that much $$$ anywhere else! And the resort fee is a big joke. They used to let you avoid the payment with AAA, but not anymore unfortunately.
When we stayed there the very first year it opened, it was perfect. Nice rooms, great dining/facility and great staff. Since then, things have fallen so downhill, that you couldn't pay ME to stay there. I'd only go for the water park these days and then stay somewhere nice!
Sorry, not a great review for you...just my humble opinions. Hopefully, if you do stay, things will have turned around. :thumbsup2

We stayed at Nickolodeon with our 12 year old daughter. It is not a luxury resort but it is fun fun fun for the kids (and adults). The pools are truly excellent and poolside games and activities were a blast for the kids (and for the adults to watch). We had a small suite which had a living areaa, kitchenette, "master bedroom" and kids room with bunk beds. If I recall correctly the beds were pretty hard and master bedroom was tiny but it is set up well for family convenience. The food was decent and you can get up really close to the characters. Our daughter LOVED it.

This is a place to go for the kids and family. The one adult thing was yu could get a poolside massage by some really excellent massage therapists. Its enough fun that our daughter didnt want to leave to go back to theme parks. The evening entertainment was lively and well done. I thought it was well worth the price!
