Do people buy Kindles off Craigslist? If so, what is a reasonable price to ask for a one year old Kindle 3--wifi? It has no scratches and comes with a faux leather flip cover that also stands up. I have the original box and adapter. I love my Kindle, but am contemplating upgrading to the Fire. I think it would be more beneficial for having kiddos--my books, their books, videos, Netflix, music. My sis got one for Christmas and I fell in love with it.

Also--anyone know if you can download digital copies of movies to the Fire? Or is it only videos from Amazon?

Thanks in advance!

I just sold my K2 on eBay for about $60. You can look on eBay at completed listings to see what they've been selling for. You can also sell Kindles on kindleboards. I sold my Oberon cover there, since there weren't many on eBay. I've never used Craigslist so I'm not sure about that.

I just saw in the Target ad that starting tomorrow you can bring in your old Kindle and get a $50 coupon towards the purchase of a new Kindle, but you must trade and buy at the same time. With a newer version you may be able to get more on Craigslist or elsewhere, but I have the original so for me this is a great deal. Can't wait to get a new Kindle!

Just bought dd a used K3 wi-fi for Christmas, came with m-edge cover, skin, and square trade warranty for $75. Now, the kicker is, the K3 wi-fi has already been discontinued, and there's talk the 3G version isn't too far behind. If you can afford to hold off for a bit, you may be able to get more money for it- there are a lot of people loyal to the K3. I also think you'd do better on e-bay or kindleboards.com than craig's list, but I could be wrong.

I had a bad experience with Craigslist and never went back. I have always sold on Ebay and never had a problem. You should put the item up for auction with a reserve bid which means you will not sell for lower than that price. You can also research selling prices there.

With Craigslist you will have lots of people emailing you offering you half of your asking price. But- the upside is that you don't have to sell to them and if you hold out, someone will buy for what you're asking or close enough for you to accept. I had a practically new Nintendo DS, no scratches, case, extra stylus, car charger, original box, cables etc. barely played with and I had 4 games with it. Reasonable price. Everyone wanted to buyit for half.

If you do keep it and they discontinue it - buy a battery NOW. I've had my original Nook (wifi & 3g) for 2 years now and thought about getting a battery, since I'd rather have one on hand _just in case_. BN was offering $50 to trade in, but I'm not interested. Went to buy a newe battery - BN no longer carries them! they had them just a week before. Staples still has the batteries (online only) so I bought 2. So - if you decide to keep your old Kindle becuase you love it, get a spare battery.
