Sell it to me...

You should stay on-site at GC, hands down! It is amazing and truly worthy of the milestone anniversary you will be celebrating.:thumbsup2 Think about the memories you two are building -- I honestly believe your wife will COMPLETELY gush and have a warm, cuddly feeling when she recalls staying on-site at DL -- I seriously doubt she'll have the same feeling or memory of staying somewhere across the street. My feeling is the Disney properties cannot be beat at DL or at DW -- we've been to both and plan to always stay on-site.

I really hope you'll decide to stay on-site, especially at GC.

Tough call. There are some lovely places to stay near DL. I'm not gonna' lie tho, I prefer to always stay onsite and whenever possible at GCH. DH is adorable and completely indulges me on this whenever he can. I just really like to keep my mood up by staying right in the "magic". DH swears by the service a GCH and laughingly says he feels like he can ask for anything there and it will happen!

DH to GCH cast member: "You there!"
GCH cast member: "Me, sir?"
DH: "Please remove this pest" he gestures at a nearby person talking loudly on his cellphone.
Cast member: "Remove?"
DH: "Yes. Permanently!"
Cast member: "Right away sir!"

He hasn't put this theory to the test yet but, the thought of it cracks him up. So, yes. We totally prefer onsite!

Good luck with your decision. I'm sure your DW will appreciate all your efforts to surprise her!

We are going for our 20th anniversay in June. First we thought we would splurge and do CGH for a few days. Then we decided we could stay for a whole week somewhere else for the price of a few days there. So, we finally decided on Embassy Suites South for a week. I've stayed at other Embassy Suites before and love the nice breakfast, the additional living room, microwave, etc.

I've never been to this one but read there is a shuttle. It is too far to walk. From what I could see, if we wanted a nicer hotel off site, we had to be further away. It seems like all the close ones are not "anniversary worthy" in my opinion.

:rotfl: :rotfl: My DH feels that way about the GCH concierge service. I know some have had spotty service but we've "burned" DVC points for 3 trips so far and my DH does feel that way. He loves walking into the lounge and having someone out of the blue deliver his favorite drink and a plate of sandwiches. One trip he had to get some work done so he set up shop in the corner while I was in the parks playing. He said he didn't say a word asking for anything and his drink was always filled and they even brought out snacks for him when there weren't any out for anyone else. He does believe that anything he asks for will happen.

I am also a huge fan of the GCH concierge service! They are amazing! It is one of my favorite hotels at either DLR or WDW...hands down! :)
