The only problem I see with not being able to edit your post after a certain number of days is that on the scrapbook swaps board, we create threads where the first post contains all the members of the swap and what they have signed up to make. We constantly update that post with packages mailed, received, etc. so there is one place to check the progress of the swap. It can be a month or more between the start and end of a swap.

Plus - we all make mistakes on posts - if I post something and it has a glaring mistake in it but it is 3 - 4 days before I am back on the boards, shouldn't I be able to correct it then?

Eh - I guess I don't really care much either way. I do like the ability to edit for spelling/grammar, but I don't usually edit for content. I have to agree with the others though, that I like when the OP updates the title and/or first post with updates so you don't have to scroll through the whole thread.
