Selecting pat time?

From the DCL App I was able to see that our online checkin opens on October 15. I haven't been able to find any information regarding what documents I need to have ready to upload, etc in advance of starting the online checkin process. Can I start the online checkin by selecting the PAT time as soon as the online checkin window opens and complete the remainder of the required steps later or do you have to go through several steps before you get to the point of being able to select the PAT time?

Yeah, it's confusing . . . but once I realized the process shifts what we all waited on-line at the Port Terminal to do with a customer-service person => on-line, prior-to-boarding-date, it makes sense.
On one hand it's good (except for all the part-time port workers who were dressed as DCL cast-members for the day), as it speeds up time and reduces crowding/waiting at the terminal.
But those crowds and the waiting help build anticipation and make the entire boarding process more of "a show" . . . which was kind of fun too.

Anyway, here's what I did that made it work pretty easily:
1. take a clear picture of each of your party's passport photo page and make sure it shows the Passport#
2. take a clear picture of each party's face/shoulders
3. transfer the pictures to your computer or whatever device you're going to log into and do this with.
4. log into your DCL account and access your resv. and follow the directions

5. One has to wait for the software to "analyze" your passport and photo's and at some point during the process, it allowed me to choose a time. This is not so different than the port experience, without the excited children . . . and adults.

Thank you so much. Your information is so helpful. It is just a shame that DCL does not give you this information in advance so you get "all your ducks in order" before actually trying to complete the online checkin process and having to get the documents as you are going along.

After reading through the linked thread above I can see why so many people took hours to complete the online checkin process. Before covid when we last sailed the process was much simpler.
