Has anyone done the Segway tour/rental at Epcot? We are considering it for our next trip but have no idea if it is worth it. We had the opportunity to ride a Segway at Disneyland in one of their exibits. It was fun but I would like to see how much further I woulc be able to take it.

DH did this last month. He really enjoyed it and he was glad he got to do it(I gave it to him as a birthday gift).
He got 1 hour of inside training and a little under an hour of going through all the countries in World Showcase. The reason the tour was cut a few minutes short was because it started to rain so they just went straight through the last few countries, without really riding around them. They were also able to take a photo break right with SSE in the background.
Because of the rain(it rained off and on all morning from a light mist to pretty good showers) they almost werent able to go outside at all but the tour guides sort of checked out the group to see if they would goof off or not and they made them promise to go slow. Had they not been able to go outside they would have refunded half the money.

I don't know what you mean but "I would like to see how much further I would be able to take it.

Once you are outside you are riding in a straight line with the cm's in front and back and until you are in the coned off area, then you can you basically ride by yourself and then they watch you very closely. You just can't take off and do what you want, it is a very controled group.

We di this tour in June and loved every minute of it.

My boyfriend is looking forward to this tour so much. I can't wait :)

We only got to ride around a small area at Disneyland in CA not Epcot in FL. It was free to test it at Disneyland. We had a cast member help us and got to go forward, backwards, turn around in a circle a few times, go around cones to turn both directions. Very quick and fun. Wanted to know how far the tours/rentals went in Epcot. I know I can't go off the path there but didn't know where they went. Now at least I have an idea (around the World) and it is something to put on my to do list for next year.

They actaually take you through the countries. You go up and down the the different paths and around columns and even through the small walkway at the garden at the Americ Pavillion.

What surprised me the most was, I thought we would be taken back before the crowds would be standing waiting for the rope to drop at WS. I was wrong. We had to ride through the people. It was fun looking at the people faces and expressions and hearing the comments. They were trying to figure out how we got to do this and they were not doing it.. I would reccomend this to anyone within the age range that they give you. One thing is; they told me you had to be under 250lbs to ride them. We had young people in our group as well as us older people. Anyone can really do it was your nerves calm down.

DH and I did the Segway tour in July. It was a highlight of our trip. How often does an adult get to do something new? We loved it. It's $80, but there is a discount with the Disney Visa card.

Do they weigh you.. or just take your word for it? My bf's friend is worried he might be close.. lol.

I really don't know, since no one on our tour looked over that amount. I would call and ask. My Son In Law did not do the tour on account of this. He is over the weight limit and really looks it.

I would just call the tour area and ask if someone looks like they are around that weight limit what do they do?

I was in the third class ever to do the tour back in February. What a blast. You can only go 5 mph but it feels faster. I highly recommend it. You'll love it!

We didn't get a pin or a certificate then. I wonder if they'd give me one now?
