Segway?

I read a trip report from someone a few months ago who indicated she got a free ride on a Segway on one of the Disney cruises. Does anyone know if they're still doing this, either free or on a rental basis?

I'm going on the 1/19 4-day Wonder trip and think it would be cool to try one of these thing out!

It's not free, it's $15 for a 10-minute ride, and they are still doing it, both on the ship and on Castaway Cay. Check your Personal Navigator for times.

The Segway rides were not being offered on the Wonder when we sailed for Thanksgiving. We were told they were being repaired (or maybe it was replaced) due to wear and tear from the ocean environment. Hopefully they will be back...they are a blast!

When I was in WDW a few weeks ago I saw CMs using them to get around World Showcase.

Call me a not very experienced cruiser but what is a SEGWAY ride?

You can see the Segways on amazon.com where they are selling for, I think, about $5,000. They are advertised as the world's first dynamically stabilized, self-balancing Human Transporter. Essentially a very high-tech scooter.

They are alot of fun and very easy to learn to use. They had them just outside the ship starting at about 3pm on Castaway cay. You will see an area that has large wood poles just after you step onto the dock. Be sure to be at that area about 15 mins. before so you can sign up for a time slot, they do go fast.
