Has anyone done the Segway Around the World tour? I think that is what it is called. I think DS16 would love that. What did you think of it? Was it worth the extra money?

We did the Segway tour last November and enjoyed it so much, we're doing it again next week! You spend about 45-60 minutes learning how to ride the Segways, turn corners, go up and down ramps, etc., and then head out in the World Showcase and have a guided tour through the countries before they're open.

Its a lot of fun and we were surprised how easy it was to learn. Within ten minutes or so, it became second nature. I think your son would love it.

Haven't done any Segway Tours yet.

I'm torn between the new one hour tour and the longer one.

DD and DD (college students) just want to try out the Segway, so we'll probably do the short tour.

p.s. Have you read the review of the segway tours on allearsnet.com?

Hey you MN people -

I just found out that they do segway tours of the historic river front in Downtown Minneapolis. Thinking of maybe doing one this fall. If you are interested, the web site is:

Best wishes -

The Segway Tour is amazing! Unfortunately, it was raining the day we had our tour so we couldn't go around WS, but we got extra time in the training room and had so much fun! We're going to do it again, but hopefully on a sunny day where we can zip around WS!!

We too enjoyed it so much last year that we are doing it again this year. It is a lot of fun. Both times, we did the longer with time in WS.

whoa - there's a LONGER one?
DH would LOVE that!

We did the 2 hour one...1 hour to learn, 1 hour around WS (our guide was a bit enthusiastic...so we were out there maybe 1.5 hours - it was great!)

I have a picture up in my cube of DH and I on the Seqways with Spaceship Earth in the background (the standard picture! heheh)

We had a cloudy/cool day in January (I'm wearing jeans/hoodie/fleece jacket/gloves - and we had a blast! DEFINETLY worth the money

ETA - Oh - i see...they offer a 1 and 2 hour tour now (instead of just the 2 hour one as in the past)

Do the 2 hour one if you can afford the extra money! You can get a discount with your AP or AAA. Trust me...after 1 hour...you won't want to get off!

I booked this tour as a surprise for DH for his birthday last year. He really enjoyed doing it and said it was definitely worth the money. He knew how much it had cost because I kept showing him info on it to see if I thought he would like it, before booking it.

They did have to cut it about 5 minutes short because it started raining heavier than it had been. It sprinkled in the beginning, but the CMs allowed them to go out. They had to promise to go slow and follow the rules or they would be back inside. It was DH and a family of 9 (parents, adult children and their spouses) in the group and he said they were a fun bunch.

We did the Segway Tour on Valentine' Day. Me, my DH and our DS (18). It was a surprise for our son - we LOVED it! Most fun we've ever had at WDW. Worth every penny. If you have AAA, they offer a discount. I believe I paid $68 per person for 1 Hour Training and 1 Hour Tour - BIG FUN!

I am so happy to hear good reviews of the Segway Tour. DH and I are talking the two-hour tour in three weeks. We've been on Segways before at DL, so this should be a lot of fun.

I feel sorry for the poor CM who has to pry the Segway from my hands at the end of the tour. It will be our fifth day in the parks and I know I won't want to walk again at that point.

We did a 4 hour segway tour around Paris this April and it was one of the most fun things I have ever done.

I'm going to do the Around the World tour at Epcot next May. I wish they would let me book it now!

We did the 2 hour tour in April. We all loved it, esp. my 16 yo DS. It was worth every penny. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. What I really wish is that they would offer a Tour for folks who have done the training so you could spend all your time out in WS on them - maybe go all the way around WS instead of just the halfway you do now.

DS & DH want to buy one now. :earboy2:

And it was so much fun! OMG we had a blast! It was a suprise for my husband, seeing as we were gettign married the next day. :cloud9: I gave him that and the RPDE for wedding gifts.

Sorry, got off track there... It's a heck of a lot of fun and well worth the money! I can't wait to do it again! :bounce:

I don't think this thread needs another 'me too,' but here it is anyway:

If I could only do one tour at any Disney park ever, it would be the Segway tour. Do the 'long' one, it's a great time, and I had more fun doing that tour than I've had on any ride at any park. The only problems were that I didn't want to turn my Segway back in, and that I've been bugging DW for a Segway of my own ever since!

Loved it! Me, my dad and my brother did the 2hr tour last year and it was so much fun. We found the Segways very easy to ride, and I was deperate to go faster :rotfl: .

We're thinking of repeating it next summer. Here's a photo of us hating every minute of it ;) .
