It's 2 hours - 1 hour of indoor training then an hour in World Showcase. We stopped in China, Germany, Italy, America... we used the techniques we learned in class and got behind the scenes info.

Minimum age is 16, maximum weight is 250 pounds, expectant mothers and those with special needs may not participate.

I did it last May - LOTS OF FUN and well worth it!

We had a lot of fun when we did the tour. It was cool going around World Showcase when it is not open to the guest yet. If you get the chance do it!

OT~~When we did the tour in Feb.(for our 3rd time) we talked to the GM of tours at Epcot, he told us that they are working on an 'off-road' Segway tour for over at Fort Wilderness! He said that they hope to have some of the testing done by May and offer it to the public shortly after that. I forgot to ask if the Epcot tour was a prerequisite to taking the off-road tour. doh! I had seen this mentioned on a few internet sites so when he told us about it I was thrilled that it was true! He said that they had already got the go-ahead from the 'resorts' division but that he still was waiting for the approval to order all the Segway XT's. We're going again in May and I'm going to be sure to look him up to see what the status is if it's not offered by then! I can't wait to do the new tour!

We did it last May as well. It was awesome! We're thinking of doing it again. We got some inside info, but not as much as on the KTTK tour, which is much more "informative." We stopped in Germany, Morocco, America, and Japan. Seems like it varies depending on the guide. I highly recommend it!

We've called 6 weeks out and the day before and have always managed to get the day and time we wanted. I'd call as soon as you decide to do it. Don't forget to ask about the discounts available!

I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question since it's a segway tour, but is there much walking.

My husband has some leg problems and he's ok walking around the parks at his own pace, but when we did one of the tours at MK it didn't work out so well.

The only walking is from guest relations next to SE, where you check in for the tour, to Innoventions West (the building that houses the Coke display) for the class. Everything else is done on the Segway.

I have another question... I found an article from a disney information website from November 05, talking about their experience with this tour.
She mentions (and has pics too!) that the characters came to greet them at some point...did any of you have that experience??

We've taken the tour 3 times, twice in 05 and once in 06 and have never seen any characters. I guess we'll have to keep taking it until they show up!

I can't find where I read it for sure, but if it rains they just do the first hour (the inside portion) and reimburse you half the cost ($40). My DH and two DSS are booked for this tour in June. Also, your credit card is charged when you make the reservation. I forget what the cancellation policy is, sorry!

I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question since it's a segway tour, but is there much walking.

My husband has some leg problems and he's ok walking around the parks at his own pace, but when we did one of the tours at MK it didn't work out so well.

Please be careful here. The Segway IS tiring on your legs, you use them more than you realize. A man riding in our group had problems with this and the tour ended up not-so-good for him.

I totally agree with DisMN. Although most of us can stand for 2 hours, you may not realize how much you normally will shift your weight and change your stand and enve take a step or 2. When on the segway you are pretty much standing in one spot. You can do a little shifting around, but it is tiring on the legs. If your husband has trouble walking, make sure he can stand in one spot for lengthy periods of time before signing up for this tour.

We went in October and had a Blast. We paid $68 with a AAA discount for the tour.
I agree it is tiring on your legs. One of the key point of the Segway is that you control it by shifting your weight slightly. Because of this, you really are standing primarily in one spot, and it does get tiring.
