My wife and I have a Segway Tour scheduled for next week, but now DW is worried about how her hair will look after the tour. Anyone taken the tour and have feedback on the effect these helmets have on a woman's hair? (this is a serious question....silly I know, but serious)

Thanks - triplejoy

Well I dont know what type of hair she has but mine is straight and I didnt have any issues. I just put my hair in a low pony tail for the tour and kept it the same way after. It looked exactly the same. Oh and the tour is sooo amazing it really desnt matter if you get helmet hair or not!! Have fun.

I've been on this tour twice, and both times I had awful helmet hair. My hair is short, and the helmet flattened it right out. The tour is great - the hair is awful :rotfl2:.

Hope this helps.

I think it's funny that she would even think of this!! :rotfl:

I don't recall it being an issue for me, it's like a bike helmet not swimcap (now, that would be awful). A little fluffing of the 'do' upon removal of the helmet and VOILA - she'll look lovely. :sunny:

They have two sizes, small/medium and large. Even though I'm fairly small, I wore the large bike helmet. I still had to fluff my hair up a bit afterwards, but it would have been way worse if I'd worn the small one.

Actually, you'll be on such an adrenaline rush afterwards, you won't care!!! :mickeyjum :hmghost:

If the weather is on the cool side, the helmet hair will be less than if it's hot, like it is now.
Sweaty, squashed, helmet hair. :scared1:
If she carries a brush and a travel-size hairspray, she probably can perk it up nicely after the tour.

You are going to  LOVE the Segway tour, I can't wait to go again some day! :sunny:

Would someone actually choose not to enjoy a fabulous experience because of their hair? I worry about a lot of things -- how high (fear heights), how wet on a cold day, how long a wait -- but it never occured to me to care about my hair. :rotfl:

I really enjoyed the Segway tour--but I definitely had a severe case of helmet hair.:-(

Just let DW pick out a new Disney hat to wear for the rest of the day.

The Segway tour is AWESOME. Don't miss it because of helmet hair fear.

I do not wear hats for this particular reason alone.

My hair gets "set" and then it looks awful!

I think your question is funny, and the helmet hair never ocurred to me when I took the tour on a very hot and humid September morning.

I agree with whoever said you will enjoy the tour so much you won't care!!! And, if the humidity is as bas as when we were there, that will do much more damage than the helmet! ;)

This is so funny! :rotfl2: I have booked the segway tour for my sister & me in May. It takes her about and hour to fix her hair everyday! :confused3
The tour is a surprise and I've just told her that we have to be in Epcot by 9:15 so she doesn't know about the helmut.:rotfl:
We were talking yesterday about headbands being back in style. I told her to bring a few.  I can't wait.

I agree that I would never sacrifice a fab experience for my hair, but I would carry a brush and try to do a little damage control, mainly to look decent in the vacation pics!
(I'm in the hair biz, so my living depends on people being concerned about how their hair looks! ;) )

We did the Segway tour for the first time on our anniversary last October. I didn't even think about helmet hair, but yup, I got it!

If it was any OTHER day I wouldn't care but we had an anniversary lunch at Le Cellier and then an anniversary dinner at Cindy's so I wasn't all that impressed but I went with the flow, smiled at the camera and laughed about my hair the next day when I downloaded pics to the laptop :lmao:

Ok ladies jsut take a silk scarf /bandana and put that on then the helmet and this will help with the hair. Nothing will totally make your hair come out perfect but this will help keep it even.

I know what does a man know well living over a salon for 40 years should count for something. And Boy do I got Stories.

Thank you all. I let my DW read this thread....she has decided to take a visor to wear after the Tour! I now just hope it is a beautiful day. Thanks for your comments! :cool1:
