 I just read about a one hour session with a Segway at EPCOT. Has anyone tried this and what did you think?

mY dh and I did over year ago. What understand they and 1 hr and 2 hr session. With two hr session to get to WS when it closed. With 1 hr it is basically instruction.

What was wonderful. One best time we had WDW. I recommeded to anyone. I was a little leary about, but it fine and I had problems with it. ::yes::

We are thinking about going back for the first time in about 5 years (we have two small children now...).. I don't remember Segways.... is it free? IE, just stand in line? Or is it like riding Harleys at some of their shows....$3 fee or whatever....

We have done it, and it was a highlight in our trip. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the means/time or someone who loves new technology in their group.

I am doing it in October and I can't wait! From the first time I saw a Segway, I wanted to ride it!

My dad LOVED it. He still talks about it all the time and tells anyone who will listen how great it was.

I did the two-hour tour last month, and it was very, very much worth the money and the time. Time for a photo!

Do you have to book a long time in advance? When you ride in the international section, is the park opened to the public yet? I can't ride the segway myself but would love to wait for my DH in the park and take pictures!

Yes you have book in advance. The WS is closed when you ride out there. Make sure you tell when you book the ressi, youj want where ride at WS. There offer two now; one where you ride in WS, and another about 1 hr where don't in WS,

If you want to do the tour I recommend booking it ASAP. The tours are limited to 10 per group and do book up quickly. We did the 2 hour WS tour last month and loved it, we had such fun. We did a lap of the world showcase and had fun riding over the bridges in Japan, going through the arches in Morocco and weaving through the small hedge maze at the side of the American Adventure. We booked our tour for last December in March.

Here is a picture of my husband and I on the segway tour with our instructor.

We did the Segway tour last February and loved it. My husband and I are in our mid 50's and had no problem. With our trip this February we've booked the tour again. Also booked for our son and DIL as birthday gifts for them. Well worth the price. BTW, discounted for annual pass holders.

Yes you should book a long time in advance; you can book 180 days in advance.

Parts of the World Showcase walkway are open so that guests can walk from International Gate to Future World and Future World to Norway (for princess breakfast). But nothing is happening there. The section from China to France is completely closed to guests until 11:00, and that's where the Segway Tour spends most of its time.

My DH and I did the one hour instruction only - Segway Experience - class in May 05. At the end of the class, we were so sorry we didn't book the 2 hour Segway Tour. So, when we returned in December with our children - both over 18, we booked the 2 hour tour. As stated before, it was by far the highlight of our vacation. I am definitely not athletically inclined and I did just fine - no mishaps for anyone in our group. We were in the 8:30 AM group so the World Showcase was absolutely empty when we went through. What a treat. I know it's been mentioned on other threads, but make sure you get your discount if you are a AAA member, AP holder, or I believe if you have a Disney Visa. Ask when you make the reservations. We paid $68 per person instead of the $80 without a discount. Have fun!!

My husband and I did this tour in October. It was so fun to learn how to use it & then to have the opportunity to travel though World Showcase on one was awesome!! We loved the experience, but wouldn't do it again until my 11 year old is old enough to try it. :woohoo:
