It was excellent and I would do it again. The name tag is just a paper one, like you would get at a typical short luncheon, etc. The pin you get at the end of the tour is very nice, though. It actually has a small Segway HT that moves back and forth across the bottom. You'll really enjoy this tour. The first hour is spent in Innoventions. During this time, you will become familiarized with the Human Transporter and learn how to "drive" it. After a short restroom break, you will head out to the WS for another hour. Out there, you will be able to get photos, so bring your camera! The CM's will take photos for you or you can take your own. Have fun!
Don't forget: There is a 15% discount available for this Tour with a AAA membership or an AP.
Another note: We did this tour with a group of people related to "msmom", a DIS member. She was allowed to video the entire training segment in Innoventions. If a member of your party is not doing the tour, he/she may be able to do the same for you. It doesn't hurt to ask.
The little pin you get is cool (and only available for people taking the tour).
They make a stop in Italy where people can step off their Segways for a few minutes if they want. During that stop, the CMs will take pictures of you on the Segway if you want. Or, you and other members of your party could take pictures of another each other.
One rule they have for particpants is that you must be off the Segway if you want to take any pictures yourself. (They don't want any Segway accidents because you are concentrating on your camera and not on the Segway). When we did the tour in July, cameras were supposed to be put away except for that stop in Italy.
Yes! I can't wait to do this in 1 1/2 weeks! I had to "trade" my husband thou. He has always wanted to rent a golf cart in Fort Wilderness so, I agreed to do that if he would agree to the Segway--It worked!!!! Golf cart will be boring but we are bringind our suits to swim at the Wilderness Lodge after. (dvc members)
