Seems that this time there really ARE serious concerns about Disney World..

I can think of bigger targets than WDW and DL, if you want to hurt people.
Disney is the symbol of American excess....

Pumba - You go and have a great time.....

We had reservations about going last February because it was the week of the High Alert....But we went and we all stayed together as a family all of the time. That was my biggest concern that if something happened we would not be together.

This really worries me..my sister and some of her friends are in DisneyLand right now and my nephew and his girlfriend are heading out that way to meet up with her.
I hate this!!

Saddam wouldn't be that stupid. Just think. He actually has some countries trying to do this diplomatically. If he would try to do something to the mouse I don't know a country out there that wouldn't be totally outraged like they were on 9/11. Saddams' goose would be cooked.

My theory is that when it is time for me to "go", I will and I'm not going to worry about it.

You'd better believe that's the same way I feel. I've been in 2 terrorists attacks so far (OK, maybe that's playing the odds a bit;) ), but I feel safer at WDW (or in a plane for that matter) than on the expressway on a saturday night.

If people want to be concerned about how they can truly control their lives, they should stop driming and driving, wear seatbelts, quit smoking, exercise, eat right and get checkups. At least you can control these things, and any one of them is far more likely to kil you than a terrorist attack.

I am flying to the World in 2 days and I will be honest in saying my stomach is in knots.
If a plane does violate Disney's airspace what happens then? I mean, who handles the problem?
Frankly, I dont think Saddam cares who he kills. This is an evil man who killed 5,000 with a chemical attack in 1988! He hasnt changed.
We are still going on Fri. but Id be lying if I said I wasnt nervous. I would never intentionally put my DD in harms way.DH has a laid back attitude and insists all will be fine.

They have restricted flights below 3,000 feet. This is the same restriction that they put in place over sporting events like the Super Bowl.

I think it's a good idea.....like having smoke detectors in your home or wearing your seat belt. It might not be necessary but it is a good preventative measure.

Personally, I think we need to go in, get out Saddam and nail him to a platform in Small World. Let him listen to that song over and over again. Be forced to see Happy people from diverse backrounds. Maybe he'd learn a lesson.

I think we have the media to blame for all this panic thinking! Go to WDW, have fun. If it is your time to go, it wont matter if you are at WDW, MOA, DC, or your own apartment building. (Yes, apartment buildings are listed as "soft targets".) Fear is the greatest weapon terrorist have. I for one don't plant to let the B******s win, so I will be keeping ALL my reservations!

If a plane violates restricted airspace the pilot gets a radio call telling him/her to MOVE IT! Depending on actions, military planes can be sent to intecept. Most pilots MOVE, they did not mean to be there in the first place. Don't panic, if your airline should wander over the boder they would not just shoot it down!

Yep, that's my biggest concern too....wdw or otherwise.

I think it would be naive to believe WDW is not a terrorist target. It symbolizes everything great about America. The terrorists think we are all infidels who revel in excess - they would like nothing more than to destroy the place we go to enjoy ourselves. But - that doesn't mean I'm going to cancel my travel plans. I think our government is doing a good job keeping us safe so far, so why panic?

If you're going to WDW in the near future, relax, enjoy yourself, float around Typhoon Lagoon for those of us stuck here at home. Have a Dole Whip, dine with Winnie the Pooh, grab a turkey leg and have fun! There are alot of us here that wish WE were going in a few days. ;)

I was there last month when the alert level was raised to high and it didn't stop us from having a grand time , if anything we enjoyed our time there more than ever before.
I think the government is doing a good job on keeping us all informed so we can be aware of our surroundings. Personally I wouldn't change my travel plans unless I was travelling to the middle east.
