Seeking Webcam Advice

I am interested in purchasing a webcam. Almost all my family members in Europe have one & I see/hear them but they can't see/hear me. (Sometimes that could be a good thing though! )

Anyway, just wondering if there is something in particular I should look for when shopping for one. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't really know anything about WebCam's.

My daughter has one though. We just went to Radio Shack and bought the middle priced one.

It seems to work okay.

Maybe try going on web sites for different local stores like Radio Shack, Office Depot etc and comparing the prices or just go to the store and talk to someone. They are usually fairly knowledgeable there.

It's hard to go wrong with any namebrand. I use the least priced Intel. It works fine for what I use it for.

I have a logitech quickcam, which works pretty well. They have them in all diff. price ranges, with different features such as zoom, auto focus, microphone etc. But they are all pretty decent cameras.

Okay, you all make it sound pretty easy to just buy a webcam.

I just wanted to say that if you already have a video camera, you can use that as a webcam as well!

TechTV is the place to visit for that info. I know that my SIL and Uncle communicate via webcam or netcam as they call it.
