Hi. I'm new to the board and planning our first family trip to WDW. We are a family of 4: DH, DS, & DD. Years ago I was CM, but this is an entirely different experience.

I'd love to hear from all your experiences about activities you would do if you found yourself with extra funds available? My father has given us a bit of cash to spend while on our trip to "do something we otherwise wouldn't"

Thanks so much!!!:cloud9:

Spend at least one night at Animal Kingdom Lodge so that you can take the Sunset Wanyama Safari!

Or do the Segway tour at Epcot (oh, wait! I *am* doing that next month! ;) )

How old are the kids? If they are over 16 then the Keys to the Kingdom Tour.....if not, how about renting a boat to watch the fireworks?

Go to See--Cirque du Soleil--La Nouba-- in DTD
We're planning on doing this and for something that is inexpensive
we are going to take the "Behind the Seeds" Tour at Epcot.
Would love the Keys to the Kingdom tour but my DS in not yet 16yrs. old.

I second the Cirque d'Soliel rec if your kids are at least 6 or 7. My dd's were spellbound the entire time and worth the money to get better seats, IMHO.

I would do the Illuminations cruise.. I hear they have a pirates cruise for children under 12, and try either the Polynesian Luau or the HOOP-DE-DOO shows.:wizard:

Depending on your kids' ages - there is always Chef Mickeys. We also enjoy the event nights.

we LOVED chef mickeys. we went around 8:25 or so, and went outside and watched the wishes fireworks after our reservation! it was awesome!

The Family Magic Tour is great for a family with kids 12 and younger, and really not that expensive.

I would stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge (concierge level, of course!) and go on their sunrise safari.

I'd also do a lot more tours, and splurge on more expensive restaurants.

I'd go to one of the spas at the more deluxe WDW hotels and get a massage, pedicure, facial, etc.

The ideas go on and on - wouldn't it be great to have some extra money to throw around?

Cirque for sure, keys tour also right up there and Luau. These are my and my daughter's favorites! Oh and ZoZo, I love your name!

Go on one of the safaris offerred through AKL. You don't have to be at the AKL for all of them - there is one that is open to CL guests at other resorts as well. It was the highlight of our trip.

The luau was also wonderful. Kids at our table seemed to really enjoy it.
