Hello, newbie here. Great to have found this board by accident! Wondering if some of you experienced Disney goers could reccommend a nice, clean place to stay over a weekend on Oct. We're going to Orlando for a wedding and are extending the weekend into a mini disney trip. Probably just 3 nights and a day into magic kingdom. Don't want to spend a fortune, but don't want to be in a dump either. Anyone stay at Radisson Parkway or La quinta Lakeside? Good rates on hotwire for these.

Country Inn and Suites LBV had some pretty decent rates when I last looked! I used AAA to check and I thought they were pretty good. Around $69 or so.

Also www.tripadvisor.com is a good database and has a rating system with prices for alot of hotels in the area!
Good luck! :)

I would definitely pick the Raddison Palm Parkway over the LaQuinta Lakeside, esp if the prices are similar. You could also check out the hotels at Calypso Cay, the County Inn & Suites and the AmeriSuites. You would be close to MK but kinda out of the way of the main traffic. It's off Osceola Parkway, so you would ahve easy access to MK and to I4 for your wedding in Orlando.

Thanks for replying. As you know, every place "looks" nice on the websites, whether or not they are, is a different story. I like to hear it from people who've actually seen them. I'm kind of leaning toward the Radisson, though I did see some iffy reports on trip advisor, but I guess everyone has unique experiences. We stay in the Radisson chain frequently and haven't had problems. I do imagine a good many of the properties in general are "run down" due to the heavy flow of vacationers.

If you belong to AAA you can get the Sheraton Safari (which is near Downtown Disney but not an official Downtown Disney Hotel) for $79.00 a night. I was there for a week in April and it's a great hotel and gets very good reviews on Trip Advisor.

I agree with the Sheraton Safari. Great location, pretty nice place. Also, if you check Easyclick travel.com, it is often there for $69.00 per night.

I have also used Priceline several times for hotels around the area and have yet to be disappointed.

Oops, I just noticed I said Radisson Palm Parkway when I meant Radisson Resort Parkway. There is a Mousesavers discount for this hotel as it is one of Mary's preferred hotels. If you sign up for her newsletter, you can get even better discounts. I think right now the discounts only go through sometime in August, but they will most likely be extended. You cna only get the discounts by using her link either on her website or in the newletter. You cna't call and ask for it.

We have stayed at both. Radisson better room and pool area (1 heated small, 1 large cold with slide) rates usually around $70-80/night.
Lakeside basic but adequate never paid more than $40/night, you can sometimes pick up for $19 low season. We will be staying 3 weeks in Oct. Just had email from Virgin holidays saying they have changed name to Best Western Lakeside.
