We're coming to DL next week and will be staying with family who live about 15 minutes away. Before reading the recent threads on the subject, I hadn't thought much about parking, but I'm concerned that having to come by car will prevent us from being able to arrive early and taking advavtage of early admission.

Is there any way around this? Any local public transportation or shuttle service available if you're not staying in a hotel? Getting a hotal room nearby just isn't in our budget.

How about calling a taxi? :confused3

Or have the driver drop you off, go park and meet you in line or in the park if ecessary. That way only one of you will be missing out on early entry. Chances are he or she can meet you in line for Nemo, if that is your plan. The only snag might be if you grab an early FP, his ticket will be left out.

I agree with this. There is a specific area for drop offs and pick ups that 1 person can drop you off at. Another idea, though I don't know if this would work, is to park your car in the drop off area for EE only and when EE is over, have 1 person move it over to the main parking garage.

I believe that EE is only for people who are staying at an on site hotel or have bought some some sort of package. Maybe AAA tickets allow early entry? Anyway, I guess my point is, to be sure that you qualify for EE before you worry about trying to park for it. A taxi to and from Disneyland will probably be more than one day parking. I say go ahead and park in the parking structure, I think it opens an hour before the park.

EE comes with any 3-day or more parkhopper. Not too hard to come by.
The parking structure opens at 6:30 am when the park opens for EE at 7. If your dh dropped you and the rest of your party off at the drop-off area before the parking structure opens. You would be able to get a good place in line. I'm sure he would be able to park and then get to you in line before the gates open for EE.

I was thinking for EE, that you could park in the DTD parking lot? Isn't it free for the first 2 or 3 hours? And then after EE, have someone go and park the car in the parking structure?

DTD parking is free for the first 3 hours! And, if your parking ticket is validated at a DTD restaurant it adds on 2 more hours. It is very easy to walk to the monorail from the DTD parking lot...the lot sits directly behind Rainforest/ESPN.
