Seeing WISHES from Contemporary?

What is it like to view WISHES from the observation deck at the Contemporary? Should be bother?

I would like to know also. We will probably be checking into POR too late to hit the parks, so wanted to view the fireworks from the Contemporary, take the kids on a monorail ride, then maybe have dinner. Will hit the parks bright and early the next a.m.

I heard the Contemporary has an observation on both the 4th and 12th floor????? How good is the view?

The view form the 12th floor observation area is great, but it is now restricted to Contemporary guests only. They let anyone else view from the 4th floor, which I have not tried but I bet it is a great view also. Hope that helps a little!

I haven't seen Wishes yet, but the view from the 4th floor of the Contemporary was pretty good for Fantasy in the Sky. Of course, it's different than being right there in MK. Since Wishes has "castle effects", you'll obviously lose this from the Contemporary, but I bet the fireworks will still be pretty cool.

The view from the 4th floor observation deck is very good. The deck is outdoors. To access it you go out the exit past the sundry shop. The sound for Wishes is piped in. The music for Wishes is wonderful. I think your plan sounds like an excellent first night. I highly recommend Chef Mickey's. We always eat there on our first night at WDW.

How about from the California Grill? We have reservations for our second night at 7:00. Wishes is at 9 that night. We were hoping either to see from our seats or to go out on the observation deck. Will we be able to use the observation deck even if we aren't Contemporary guests?

If you are eating at the California Grill you can go out on the deck. They basically shut down the place for the show! We have ressies for 8:30 the week before Easter. We went last year and really enjoyed the show. It is very peaceful out on the observation deck.
