I had a thought about the ECV ...

Instead of renting one from WDW for your whole stay (and you can't count on an ECV being available otherwise if you need one because of their limited supply ...) - why don't you check with some of the private dealers in the area and find out if they would have one available for you on a "contingency" basis IF you need it ... ? I would imagine they are well-stocked and would have at least a few just sitting around ...

From what I've recently read on the AllEars site, this could work for you ... and apparently some of these places will deliver the ECV to your resort, show you how to use it, etc.

So - if you have a "bad" day/afternoon, you could give them a call - and they may be able to have you "rolling" again by the next day ... (if not sooner ... )

But a word of warning: if you do take up this "option", make sure they don't give you the "Lightning McQueen" model ...

Ok back to work for me...we were "busy" today - a co-worker and I are getting our nails done after work. These are very important things you know!

Oh hey! did you see the thread on the budget board about toys on sale at Target and stuff on clearance at Wal-Mart? Totally thought of you. I got almost all of my Christmas toys bought! Hopefully you'll still have a bit of selection to get some deals!

Hey Jill - Hope you don't mind. I put some time in yesterday and this afternoon trying to get them caught up. I know I committed to doing them awhile back but life kind of got in the way for me and I've been having a hard enough time keeping up with my requests! I'm sorry for it taking this long. I'm up to page 13 out of 17 right now so you shouldn't have too many to do once you're back up and running. Dan just put the boys down so I'm going to work on them for another hour or so then hit my requests. Just wanted to give you an update.

Disney related-----did you see the general public and annual passholder codes came out last week????? Hopefully you can use them and save even more for your trip!! We saved about $200 on our Dec trip...something's better than nothing! Helps to cover the dining plan.

Ok off to do DISigns, pack and update my PTR before we leave! Hope you're doing well. Miss all of your updates!!

ETA: Your DISign requests are caught up. One less thing for you to worry about please. We miss you over there and can't wait for you to get back. Hi Lynn,
Thanks for checking in on me, it means alot. The truth of it is, I am not doing so hot. My Fibro is flaring due to lack of sleep, and I am having lack of sleep due to anxiety, and my anxiety is over my worries about Leon going into 1st grade and the ADHD. I haven't been sleeping hardly at all. I am exhausted all the time during the day and wide awake ALL night with thoughts racing around my head. Now that summer is nearly over (school starts next Wed.) I am done with taking care of 4 kids all at once and I will go down to just my niece while Leon is in school five days a week and a second child for a full day, but just two days a week. I am hoping that will free me up a bit.
But right now I am just feeling so overwelmed by life right now that I don't even have the desire to plan for Disney or do anything else for that matter (now you KNOW I am not doing well).
I even had a moment last weekend when I thought that maybe we shouldn't even go at all. ...It was a rough weekend, but I'll go into that more later.

Thank you also, so much, for catching up on my designs for me. (That took a huge load off my mind). My program is back up and running now, and I will get back to it very soon, I don't want to get backlogged again! But as I said I haven't really had too much desire to do much of ANYTHING lately - Hopefully next week!

I did get to the double digits over the weekend. I should have been screamin it all over the DIS but I just could not get myself excited over it.

Hi I read you post about the AHD for Leon, just take things one day at a time. If you can try to volunteer or observe at Leon school, this will help you to see how the teachers are working with Leon. My daughter has ADH also I worked closly with her teachers . and yes someday are easier than others. But trust me you will get though this. She graduated from high school with good grades and is now happily married. Is there any kind of parent support group at your school or community? This help me alot to be able to talk to other parents.

just think of all the fun you going to have with Leon at WDW, seeing the world with your child is one of the best feeling in the world

I wanted to THANK YOU for all your well wishes. They actually made me cry. you are a really good friend! I am slowly getting out of my funk. Although I do now have a wicked sinus infection with some coughing thrown in for good measure - so now I have that to deal with.

Thanks for those links, I haven't had a chance to really look but I will when I get a free moment. I am very active (almost too active) in the PTA but I think I now need to join SEPTA (Special Ed PTA) to really find what I need for Leon. Once I get my life back in order I plan on searching out a local ADHD support group.

Leon started his first day of 1st grade today and I am free of any other kids for today. So I am taking it easy and relaxing. It was sad this morning, Leon did not want to go... he is VERY down on himself. He hates being the youngest and he thinks he is stupid. He's 5, he should not be worrying about these things! I hate to see him like this. Yesterday we went to see his classroom and got to meet the teacher. She seems very nice but I've heard some mixed reviews about her. I TRY to never let other peoples views influence me, so I may come to my own conclusions. I can't wait to meet him at the bus stop and hear about his day. I did manage to get some nice pictures this morning though. I'll post them later. I always make a BIG DEAL out of everything. And the first day of school is no exception. The weekend before school starts we always go out for dinner. this year we went to Dave and Busters for the first time. It was so much fun and the food was great too. I'd say we have definatly graduated from Chuck E. Cheeses! The day before school starts we always do a practice run. We get up stupid early and get ready for school, daddy helps Leon get ready while I pack a lunch and get his backpack ready. Leon then puts on his back pack and waits with me at his bus stop for the bus to come, which is actually our minivan driven by Daddy. We get in and go out for a special breakfast. I managed to get the day off from babysitting yesterday and today so it worked out well.
This morning we did all the same stuff but had a special b'fast at home before going out to take pictures and let Leon search for his 'Schultute' that I made when he started Preschool. It's a German tradition that on the first day of school children get a big decorated cone filled with treats. I've done it every year. (People like to say he's spoiled, I just like to say he's loved)

Rather than dishing on the Dis, I really should be cleaning house. While I have been in a funk, my house has suffered dearly. I need to clean house and make my back to school cake. I make one every year in the shape of a school bus. This morning I invited the other kids from our bus stop to come have a piece of cake in the yard with us. Now I have the other mom's bringing goodies too. It should be fun. I got to run now and get ready.

I promise I'll post more soon...... I still have to tell you about my awful, made me want to cancel Disney, but don't worry I am not, Hershey Park Weekend.

First off, thank you for the kind words You're a wonderful friend and I'm excited for you to take your first trip with your little man. I can't let you give up on that!

Looks like Hanna's going to head for Myrtle Beach instead of us!! So long as that's the plan, I should be able to stay here...my OCD planning does NOT like this-who can plan when things keep changing??

Corbin says the same things about himself being stupid...his latest is "I give up". No idea where this came from as that's not really something we say in our house unless we're playing hide and seek or a guessing game. I'm sure with a little encouragement from Mommy and Daddy he'll be just fine.

How would I know that you had fun things to do on the first day of school? I am going to have to borrow some of those when the time comes.

Dishing on the DIS is WAY more fun than housework-I know that first hand! (it's more fun than work too by the way!)

Ok get that house cleaned up and get back here to dish! We cannot wait to see the pictures and get a report that it was a wonderful day!

That's it!! It's clear to me now! I am cursed! I am clearly, clearly cursed!!!
Over the weekend I uploaded some pictures from Leon's 1st day of school and proceeded to rotate them on the computer so I could update my PTR. In the middle of it I get a stupid pop-up that says ...well it said alot and I don't remember the exact words, but the words I do remember are "files" "corupt" "perminantly deleted". Which kinda freaked me out because I already wiped the memory card. Then my computer froze. The computer that we just fixed. Ron advised me to reboot which I did. I tried to locate my pictures and I could not find any. And by any I mean ALL of THEM!! Aparently my computer can not read the k/drive. The k/drive is the external hard drive that we purchased to put ALL my important documents and TEN YEARS of PHOTOS and MEMORIES on as a means to keep them safe. That was our back-up system. I didn't let myself get too freaked over this, after all this was the back-up, this was the fail-safe. It can be fixed, right? This was supposed to keep everything safe, right? WRONG!!!
Today we had someone come to "fix it" .... It can't be fixed. She suggested that we contact the company that made the external hard drive. We did, they do not do Data extraction. So now all my precious data, photos, designs, files, 10 years of my life are GONE!!!
I AM FREAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow we call the Geek Squad and pay $300 - $400 to see if they can do anything. I can't believe this. i am so totally cursed.

First the computer dies, then my good camera dies, then my cell phone won't hold a charge, then my extra point and shoot camera looses battery life after about 25 pictures, and now the external hard drive is trash and I've lost some of the things I hold most precious in my life. Seriously! W * T * F!!!!
I can't afford this @#%!*. Oh yeah and did I mention that I was only able to purchase one AP, so I still have two more WDW tickets to buy and I can't afford that either?

Sorry to be such a downer ...Excuse me now, while I go hide under my bed and never ever come out!!!

Oh Jill...you're not cursed. Did you happen to break a mirror by chance? That's terrible luck. I cannot imagine what you're feeling right now. I would be such a mess if I lost my pictures I wouldn't be able to focus. When we packed our stuff when Hanna was coming, the first tote in the van was my scrapbooks. Keep us posted on what happens with the external drive. That's what I'm using right now too for picture storage mainly. We don't keep ours hooked up to the computer all the time-maybe that's the difference??

I'm thinking they should be able to get the stuff off...when I had computer problems in the past they were able to save the "important" stuff for me-it took a couple of weeks but they managed to save it.

Not that this helps at all, but I also put my pictures on Shutterfly (the majority of them) so they're on line in case anything ever happens to my stuff as well. Just another back up. You've got some on a website too right?? At least you'll have some of them then.

I didn't know about your cameras. What's up with those? As for the point and shoot sucking batteries-try the litium ones. That helped with mine.

Sounds like you need a new cell phone battery there with not holding a charge...it is new or under warranty? That might cover the new battery. If not, try letting the charge run out (or almost all the way out) before charging it. That might help.

As for the two APs you still need to buy...we'll think of something! You're a very resourceful woman and I'm sure you'll make it all work out in the end. I'm too excited for you to go to cancel your trip!

Try to stay a little sane...I'm sure it's very hard right now. Come here to the DIS and share with us. We'll listen.
