Seeing the castle at Disney flicks

Does anyone else get all happy and excited when the castle and fireworks appear at the beginning of a Disney movie? I always find myself smiling and sighing! It's not quite like being there, but it makes me feel a little closer to the happiest place on earth.

I agreed to go to the Hannah Montana 3D concert at the theater just in hopes the castle would be at the beginning in 3D (and it WAS!).

When I saw Disney's A Christmas Carol over Thanksgiving, the opening was of the castle fireworks in 3-D on an IMAX screen! I really felt like I flew over the castle and landed near the brook outside of it. Loved it! I could have stayed in that scene forever!

I love seeing it too...I was watching Enchanted on tv the other night and I had forgotten how the traditional opening castle scene morphed into a shot of inside the castle and a storybook on a stand.

Whenever a Disney movie is starting, DD11 calls me in and says, "Mom, your favorite part is on!" .

Ha!! I love it, too! My first Blue-Ray was a Disney film simply so the first thing I ever saw on Blue-Ray would be the castle.

I love seeing the castle. It gives me a feeling of nostalgia.

Oh, I feel that way too! One of my favorite Christmas memories happened last year, we live near Disneyland and on Christmas Eve, my brothers and I were driving to my dad's house and we were near the park. All of the sudden, fireworks arrived in the air and we just parked and watched them happily.

Felt the same way with Princess and the Frog. It was like seeing your parents' house, or grandparents' house, (or a dear friend's house) you know that inside live some of the best people in the world. The castle is a gate way to your friends, and on the other side you'll meet new ones.

I love it because it's a mix of all the castles <3

Good to know I am not the only one. My family always looks at me weird when I sigh and get teary eyed at the sight.

Thats too funny! We just rented UP and watched it yesterday. The showed the opening Disney scene with the castle and I made a comment about "that's my favorite part" and my family all laughed at me. I love it! It puts me in that Disney mood! I'm glad it's not just me!
