Seeing many people with fans around their necks?

This may be something you're not aware of unless you're looking, but just wondering if many people are walking around DL with the little plastic fans that go around the neck like a shirt collar? In the past, I've worn a cooling towel, but I got one of those fans from Amazon. Seems to work pretty well, although it's louder and a little larger than I thought.

I find these things hilariously dorky.

When it's that hot at Disneyland, the heat is primarily bouncing off the pavement onto your legs and right into your face and a little neck fan isn't gonna help. The only respite is shade and air conditioning. We had to bail out after 6 hours last weekend when it was in the mid 90s and we cancelled our reservation for today due to the heat. Last week, we had cooling towels, UV umbrellas, cooling fabric clothing..the works. A neck fan would have been no use.

Here today (way too hot!) and used a handheld fan I ordered from Amazon. The neck fans you are referring to look uncomfortable to me. I only bought one handheld fan and we have passed it around. I would for sure buy more. It has worked really well and made a big difference. It has a misting option. It's very fine, a little too fine IMO. But the fan itself has been great. I like being able to aim it where I want. I thought it might be annoying carrying a fan around, but it hasn't.

I’ve never worn one of those around the neck fans in public, but I have one attached to my treadmill handlebars with zip ties and it blows enough air that I hardly break a sweat, so it definitely works. Not sure I’d be brave enough to wear one at the parks, but if it’s really that hot, maybe I would

Those neck fans look uncomfortable. I opted to go with a small handheld fan that you could fill with water and have a nice mist.

Now that mist feature along with the 3 speed fan was perfect on a hot day.

The mister fans are far more useful than a neck fan. I forgot we have 2 Disneyland ones...we should bring them next time it is going to be hot.

A couple of people use the neck fans at work. At the park, I absolutely have to have my hat and cooling towel. I also use the disney misting fan, but the more time I spend at the parks, the less I want to carry.

Just back from a trip this past week… and it was hot!! I bought 2 of the neck fans from Amazon on a cooling towel. And we barely used either. My husband hated the neck fan. Said it was too bulky. The cooling towel was okay but didn’t really seem to make any difference.

I loved mine when I was visiting during two particularly hot days in July. I got it from Amazon it looks more like a head phone resting on my neck than the kind that has two mini fans sticking up, so it takes away the dorkiness aspect. Search for portable bladeless personal fan.

I see more ads for this daily -- what I really want to do is try one of those recirculating cooling vests and hit the parks on a particularly hot day (like 105+ F).

I think we have learned over the years that the parks tend to be emptier when the temperature is 105-110 vs. when it rains, would love to take advantage of that.
