See Tink Fly?

Can anyone give me a detailed description, as this is only our second trip and we are not yet as familiar with all the areas as some of you, of the best place to see Tink fly and the Wishes fireworks over the castle. We saw the fireworks last year but we were behind the castle in Fantasyland when they started and didn't see much of what was happening out front. Is there anything else that goes on in front of the castle at this time?

Tink comes out at the beginning of Wishes. She "flies" from the top of the castle over to Tomorrowland. The best place to see both would be in front of the castle near Casey's or the ice cream parlor. If you stand over towards Tomorrowland, she flies more directly overhead, which can be neat to watch.

Tink flying is the highlight of the fireworks for my daughter. However, there are sometimes circumstances- wind, weather,etc. that may cause her not to fly. We saw Wishes at MVMCP Dec. 7th and she didn't fly- must have been something with her b/c the weather was great! But at MVMCP Dec. 9th she flew. She flies most nights, just be advised that it is possible she may not fly the night you are there- this is especially important if you have small children to try to explain it to them beforehand so there are no tears!

Don't get small kids too excited as Tink does not always fly. DS6 was very upset last August when he did not see Tink. The weather looked fine. I asked a security CM and he said Tink will not fly anytime they detect lightning within 15 miles of MK. Although we did not see any lightning, he said their system had detected it within 15 miles. Sure enough we started to see lightning shortly after that.

We stood between Tomorrowland and Main St.....in front of Cindy's Rose Garden....she literally went right over our heads!!! I think we could see up her dress.....

and we saw Tinkerbell flying! We didn't think we would be able to from that view (we were taking advantage of last minute rides while everyone was lining up for the fireworks). Even from behind the castle where we were, we loved the fireworks and seeing tink! It was great! It's nice to know that you have a view (though not the best I'm sure) without worry!

I didn't tell my kids about Tink,as I wanted to surprise them.When I saw them lite her up,atop the castle,that's when I told them. They were floored. Highlite of the show for all of us!

Last year I just assumed it was one of the fireworks that zipped across the castle.........as when she is flying in the movies, she a little ball of light. Ds 6 at the time was satisfied that we saw Tink but after reading here I'm not so sure.

BTW we also had the photo done in front of the castle and they asked ds to hold out his hand, I had no idea what this was all about and was surprised when we picked up the pictures to see Tink standing in his hand.....he really thinks she was right there in his hand and flew off.

Tink is a person who "flys" down a zip line from the castle into Tomorrowland. We had watched the fireworks from 2 places that were excellent. The first place was over towards adventure land. We were right by the bridge that leads over to The Crystal Palace. We could see Tink and the FW really well. It also wasn't crowded there. We watched from the rose garden last time and Tink flew right over our heads. However a word of warning Tink wasn't a woman. That really ruined the magic for us(DH and myself.) So I will NEVER watch from that close again! Also it was really crowded over there.

When we were there for Wishes (2/6), Tink did NOT fly. We were standing on the bridge right by the castle and virtually under the wire. I kept watching and watching, but she did not fly that night. Don't know why.

We were there on Dec. 7 at MVMCP too, and GREATLY disappointed that she didn't fly. My 5 year old, the Tink lover, was all excited for it...

I have another Tink question since we are going for the 1st time end of April. Tink flies at the beginning of the fireworks? Does MK have fireworks in April? I thought it was only during peak season. Now that I know we may be able to see them I am getting really excited.

My garandaughter is obsessed with Tink, so we sat in the Plaza Pavillion and she flies right towards you, since she lands somewhere on the roof. I suppose there is really more than one person who does it.

Regarding fireworks on specific nights, keep checking at Disney.com on the "Parks" section. You can bring up the calendar for the MK there. When you click on a specific day, it will tell you the time for fireworks and parades that day and night.

Getting to the fireworks early and scoping for Tink is great fun. If you watch the castle very carefully, you can see her (him?) climb out onto one of the turret balconies and they get ready to "fly." The suit has twinkly lights on it so once the flyer comes out on the balcony you can see the twinkly costume. I think it is one of the coolest things in all the World to see Tink fly. Must be SOME view from up there! I am terrified of heights and can't imagine the courage to make that leap!

I had read that on here before our trip last year so I was on the look out. From our vantage point(right under "her") there is no way that it was a woman. But like you said, it could be more than one person doing it..I won't take that chance again.

Not sure where I have seen this, but Tink can be a man or a woman. There are certain weight and height restrictions, so they use whatever cast member is available (I assume that is also specially trained). I have never been close enough to tell the difference and don't think your children would ever notice
