Just watching Channel 10's doom and gloom disaster show, well not really watching, it's on in the background, and a Disneyland ad comes on

Advertises www.disneyland.com.au

It was one of the memories ad.

I can't remember when Disneyland last advertised in Australia.

Edited: PS - I was contacted by Disney late last year for them to use one of DD's photos for their memories campaign. Was yes yes, until they realised the contract wasn't valid for Australian law :-(

I missed it, was watching channel 2 (about the birth of Cleo mag, with Ita Buttrose vs Kerry Packer - not a bad mini-series!).

Now I'll have to keep my eyes open for it! Not that it will help me though, as my husband doesn't ever want to go to DL, and I've said I don't want to go away without him again...

What's he got aagainst DL??! You can convince him! Combine it with a golf trip.

Well, I HAVE thought of sending him to Palm Springs while we do DL - but yes, Orlando would be good too!

I'm out and about at the moment but saw it the other day. It's a partially Aussie dubbed American advert.
Thing that bugs me is that they insist on having the Disneyland.com.au website which is a waste of space. Not to mention the even worse Disney.com.au. Bleh...
But it's so determined it's a nightmare getting to the proper Disney site.

But it's nice seeing the proper ads. I remember when I was little we got real Disney ads as I remember seeing the electrical parade in it and being transfixed.

I've yet to see it :(Will have to keep my eye out!

Even though I am Disney virgin, I am pretty sure that is Cinderellas castle and not Sleeping Beauty's ....

DH said that I had tipped over the edge with that comment....:rotfl2:

Finally sat still long enough to catch the ad on TV.

Times must be tough in the US; otherwise, all us Aussies must be travelling in such record numbers that it warrants the advertising fees over here.

:happytv:

Some ad exec probably thought it was an amazingly bright idea, what with the $ being how it is. It now costs less for Aussies to go to Dis, then for Americans

... Well not including flights, but you get what I mean :rotfl:

Flipped through this. It's very interesting compared to the USA version.

Points you towards non Disney attractions like Shopping Malls and Knotts.

But even stranger how it refers you to travel agents and citypass.

Oh well.

In fact your DL site answers a lot of questions for DL guests from the US too. Where is the beach? Check DL.au

:upsidedow :thumbsup2

More than anything I think it's a reflection of our strong dollar. Along with the 'Visit California' ads doing the rounds, there's quite a bit of interest.

Actually I think both the Disneyland and California ads have been prompted by trying to maintain the spike in visitors from Australia that they have had now that more people are flying over them to WDW, NY etc. or only having a short stopover.
