See fireworks from Sci-Fi Diner?

A friend told me to get reservations at the Sci-Fi Diner for the same time that the Fantasma fireworks show is going and you will be able to see the fireworks from the Sci-Fi Diner. Is that true? Has anyone else done that?

That person is definitely not a friend. Not only is the Sci-Fi Drive In fully enclosed, but it is almost as far away from the Fantasmic Theater as possible in the Park.

Fantasmic isn't a fireworks show, either - there is a bit of pyrotechnics at the end but no big firework blasts - you'll possibly be disappointed if you wait around trying to see it from outside the theater.

Sci Fi Diner has no windows at all so it would be impossible to see anything going on outside from there. It's possible they meant the counter-service complex directly across from the Fantasmic theater entrance.

The friend may well just be someone who went years ago, before Fantasmic, when the fireworks were above the Chinese Theatre with the Sorcerer Mickey inflated. And is so, memory has blurred the details, as it does with most people.
At that time, there was fireworks, not really a show. And firework fallout came down by Sci-Fi, so they would block guests from that area as they exited the restaurant, and direct then to another area. I recall it quite well, as we had gone to the bathroom, exited through some other door, and kind of startled the CM guarding the area. He explained the firework fallout, and as he did, sure enough, some fell on and near us. I liked that Sorcerer Mickey fireworks above the Chinese Teatre show very much. A great ending to your park day, and hearded the guests back toward park entrance to leave for the day. I wish they still had that, it was great. But of couse, they are commited to the hat, and show no signs of removing that.

Is it possible Kaetra's 'friend' is talking about a Fantastmic! dinner package? I know the regularly participating restaurants for the Fantasmic! dinner package are Mama Melrose, Brown Derby, and Hollywood and Vine. However, I've also heard that on occassion they'll open the Fantasmic! dinner package to other DHS restaurants like Sci-Fi. As far as seeing 'fireworks' from Sci-Fi that is an impossibility on a number of levels as previous posters have already explained.

Not much of a "friend" to mislead you in that way. No way you can see anything from inside Sci Fi
