Sedesmasa Pins

I have read the other threads concerning these pins but none of them seemed currnet. I will be going to DL next week and plan to do alot of trading. I just bought a 20 pin lot off e-bay and of course they turned out to be sedesmasa pins. My question is has anybody traded these to CM's recently? If so where were you? Thanks.

I have been looking at pin lots on ebay just this week. I saw those too. I noticed 2 things

1) the lots were always dirt cheap
2) the location was in Chili

I also noticed in other LOT listings they always said No Sedesma pins (and other notations on different kinds of pins)
I asked my pin trading friend and she said those lots were Sedesma pins. I said "so??"she said they were cheapo and you really aren't supposed to trade them and that the CM's are supposed to a) not let you and b) keep them in their pocket so they dont get re-traded. She felt it was cheating but she had done it.
I did not buy any. I did just win a LOT on ebay this afternoon and it worked out to about $2 a pin for 17. (these ARE disney pins.) If you didn't know then oops give it a try I suppose. If you DO realize what they are, then I wouldn't buy them.

Before I knew anything about pin trading, I traded a couple to some CMs, but now I know a lot better. Officially, they are Disney pins and CMs are supposed to accept them, but they're definitely frowned upon by other traders. I really don't like them at all, and will definitely make sure I don't trade them off again.

If I were you, I would think about getting refund if the person you bought it from didn't list them as Sedesma.

Pins are expensive to buy! I feel that it is OK to trade a pretty much equal value pin for an pretty much equal value pin, but not to downgrade to junk! During our September trip my son traded for a Nemo pin. The minute I saw it on the lanyard I ask him to take it off... it just did not look quite right, not exactly like Nemo (the eyes looked wierd). It was the Sedesma (sp.) stamped pin! Ugh! No way! We went right back and traded it immediately for another pin. They are absolutely junk, even if stamped Disney, and I would never accept one! There are some legitimate listings for pins on ebay... if buying I would advise that you ask for a picture of each pins backstamp to protect yourself. Also, check feedback carefully! I have heard horror stories about pins that people purchased, what seemed like a great deal was suddenly a very bad one.

We ran into the same thing on our Sept. trip. We traded our pins and noticed that three different CM's had Sedemsa pins- which my husband wanted to trade for but I told him not to. He wanted to know why and I showed him the quality difference. I also informed the CM what they were and all the CM's reported to not have a clue what they were. I found that interesting, especially one being at the pin cart by the Coke Corner area.

I believe it is the maker (company name) of the pins (someone correct me if I am wrong)... the name brand.

I refuse to take them for a trade because of...
1. Their quality (very, very cheap).
2. The fact that we have a fortune in pins now (I spent $200.00 just in one day at MK this year) and yes we even trade new ones off!

The pins are much lower quality that the officially licensed Disney pins (like Cast Exclusive or Hidden Mickey, or even just a regular Disney pin you buy in the park).

I am sure there are some people who do trade them and don't mind, I just refuse to downgrade... it is a preference I guess. People often sell these on ebay so it is a cheap way to buy pins and sometimes lots of pins on ebay are misrepresented (it is not disclosed in auctions).

WOW! The CM we traded right back with didn't seem to realize there was a difference either! That tells me that even if Disney begins to officially prohibit these pins... it won't stop those trading as I cannot imagine each CM scrutinizing the back of each pin!

If you live near a Character Warehouse store, you can buy pins for as little at $3.95 and use them for traders. Remember all the gold ride vehicle pins from 2 years ago? About 6 months ago the Character Warehouse store here in Las Vegas had HUNDREDS of the Storybookland gold boats and I picked up some to trade.

I got 25 genuine Disney pins from pinseller.com for $77. that came out to $3.10 each. That's a heck of a better deal that buying them in the park for $7 to $10 each.

The Disney pins are much better quality than the Sedesmasa (sp?). Compare one of each and you will definately see the difference. If you get pins from E-bay, you are definately gambling with your money.

I've gotten some good trading pins from mousepinsonline.com. Their website says No Sedesma on it. If you time it right they sometimes have pins for $1.75.

i went to a site and bought them after talkign to the seller alot. these are all disney pins no sesdine or what ever its called. we have dubble checked them and all have the good disney stamp on them./ I do fill bad that some ppl dont know the difrrents. this place was like 180 per pin we bough 25 at a time so we have 50 now.

We've traded some in the park with out any problems before as long as it as the copyright mark they take it. My 6 year old is the 'trader' so she often gets some back as she cares more about what charcter she has than quality.
