Security tag left on ball cap we bought at Downtown Disney!

We bought a couple of ball caps for my 7 year old son last May in Downtown Disney. He has already worn out the first one so my DH got out the other one for him to wear when he noticed the security tag was left on the hat! He tried to take it off himself and a dye went all over the hat! What a bummer!

I'm sorry that happened to you! How frustrating. Sometimes a good pair of wire cutters will cut the security tags off, but if they are ink tags, there isn't much that can be done.

If you have a Disney store near you, they could maybe take the tag off. Just to keep in mind for the future.

wire cutters always work. It's funny how many times they forget to take the tags off at stores makes you wonder how effective they really are!

Contact their merchandising department (407-363-6200). Last October I bought a Dooney & Bourke bag at Uptown Jewelers in MK and noticed when I got home that the security tag was still attached. I called, had to send them the bag and receipt and within a week I had the bag back sans the tag! They were more than helpful, apologetic and paid shipping both ways.

I'm sure that Disney would have made it right for you, had you not tried yourself and gotten ink all over the hat. I would have contacted Disney first, and only attempted to remove the ink tag myself if Disney refused to help.

The Disney store does not use the same type of tags. We had a tag left on a few trips ago so we went to our local Disney store and they couldn't help us. We went to a few other stores, but none of them used that type of tag. It was very frustrating and we wound up just waiting until our next trip down to Disney to get it removed. It was very frustrating. Lesso learned and now we always check for tags before we leave to go home.

Like PP mentioned, call the merchandise dept, they should be able to help.

Same thing happened to SIL last month. She called, and they're having her ship the item down to remove the tag, and then they will ship it back.

My DH took the security tag off before I knew about it.
I called Disney (the phone number on the top of my receipt) and they are shipping my son a new hat! Thanks for all the replies
