Haven't been to DL in forever...could someone walk me through how to get thru security the quickest? I will have a double stroller for my 2 & 5 year old. Can I leave water bottles & blankets in the bottom or do I have to empty out the basket when going thru? Also can my kids stay in the stroller or do they have to come out & walk thru? How do they handle bags, etc? Any other advice I need to know--do tell! TIA:)

It's certainly nothing like airport security. Your kids can stay in the stroller, so that makes it a bit easier. There is no "fast" way to get through security. Expect it to take 10-15 minutes of your time. Yippee, fun! Just have your bags unzipped and ready to be inspected and it'll make the line move faster for everyone. They may escort you through a metal detector if you're selected. I was there in November and didn't get picked once for that. But I have some friends who were chosen almost every time. Maybe they looked suspicious??? Not sure if any profiling happens, or if it's all at random.

Make sure every zipper of your bag is unzipped and ready to be looked at. What ends up slowing a lot of people down (IME) has been that they don't have their bags off of themselves (off your back or shoulder) and everything is unzipped, ready to be looked at. I'm sorry I can't help with the stroller and kids; I haven't had to deal with that yet.

Disney does profile, which means that once you step on property, undercover Security and folks watching via video cameras are looking for anything suspicious, and radios the guards next to the detectors. And of course, they do a random selection of guests also. In the end, they want everyone to go through one, but they are also worried about have guests be in line too long.

I've only been through on the Harbor side once since they opened the new checkpoints, but everyone goes through now, from what I've seen.

When we were there last summer we all went through the detectors every time. DH made sure our bag was unzipped and ready to be checked, the one time we had jackets in the bottom of the stroller they just asked us to move them momentarily.

The only time my youngest went through the detector, he wanted to, so he jumped out of the stroller to walk through. Otherwise he stayed in the stroller and it was set beside the detector, by me, and I grabbed the stroller as soon as I wasaid through.

When we went through Harbor side security last month, sometimes they sent us all through metal detectors, other times it was random. They even separated us and made some in our group go through and others didn't have to. That seemed to be when it was busiest, so maybe that makes a difference too.

I've only been through the M&F side since they opened, but everyone goes through on that side too. I've been several times now since the change and everyone goes through metal detectors.

It also doesn't take as long now, the security lines are MUCH shorter with moving them to the new locations. So much better. I haven't had to wait more than a minute or 2.

Have your bags unzipped (all pockets, even that little tiny one you don't think needs to be) and ready to set on the table. Keep listening for instructions. Have the basket under the stroller organized and ready to lift the blankets out. They need to see to the bottom. What slows things down? Not being prepared. I've seen more people have their purse ready, but all the stuff under the stroller. Then when the security person asks they say "That's our lunch." OK, but they still need to see it... Have stuff ready.

If at all possible I'd have everything under the stroller in a bag too - even just a large shopping bag. If it's ungainly stuff it'll be easier to pull out that was. Bags off your body and open before you get to the table definitely speeds up the process!
