security procedures

When the 9-11 attackers were asking about locks on 747 cockpits at their flight training someone suspicious could have saved thousands of lives by asking why do you need that information. Thats all I'm saying.

Odd question in this day and age. Just walk on through unless you are trying to hide something.

I had the same feeling when I read it. It gave me the creeps!

I'm actually a little suspicious. Only two posts and the fisrt one is asking about security checks? I'm glad I'm not going in December....
My thoughts exactly!!

I agree.

I'd rather we not really answer this question, coming from a new poster....

Seems really odd. :confused3

Hopefully/probably an innocent question.

But does make me suspicious.....

I think a more specific question would make me less suspicious. "Am I allowed to bring in so and so" or "How long does security take?"

Common Security Procedure at WDW, will normally include a full body search, including ALL orifices, done in the nude.

You can request to have a few security personal to circle around you for more privacy, but when it's very busy, dont expect this, as it's not procedure.

After the full body search, they will bring you into the utilidors, where you will be questioned under heat lamps, while still in the nude.

Mug shots will then be take of your entire party, as well as finger prints.

You will then be allowed to dress again, and have a magical day.

The entire procedure takes about 1.5 - 2 hours. Not too long - but you can save some time by undressing on the boat or monorail.

KIDDING FOLKS. :teeth:

Well, they actually let ME keep my underpants on.

I guess I was lucky.

Did they? We were not allowed to.

As you can see, the policies are still being tweaked and worked out. Some wear undies, some cannot. I imagine it's how suspicious you appear that decides if you are searched commando, or not.

Thanks matlock! I am so surprised that people just willingly began divulging info like this. Call me paranoid or the "r" word or whatever...but the poster seems to also have some problems with English. As soon as I read the OP, alarm bells went off in my head. To be honest, I'd like to forward this thread to WDW security....

Oh boy, I'd better beef up my Pilates routine. I have less than six weeks to get in shape for my security search! :rotfl2:

Seriously, though, it is unfortunate that the current state of the world requires us to be so vigilant about security. I, too, feel uncomfortable when someone questions security practices. I think it is unwise to give detailed information about WDW security checks. I don't want the OP to feel unwelcome and hope that he or she understands our concerns.

OMG, get a grip people - this is a Disney message board where people come for information like this. I too would want to know what to expect if I didn't know. I have reviewed this thread fully, and people are acting like people have divulged state secrets. They haven't. To the person who said "I should forward this to WDW security" - you should do it, I'm sure they could use a laugh from a paranoid Internet fan. ;)

The truth is, 95% of security at WDW is invisible. If you think the bag check is the only thing going on at the gate, you'd be mistaken.

The bag check itself is not a security measure. It is meant to give guests a visual and physical reassurance that WDW security is there. Although some of the bag checkers do a more thorough job than others, it doesn't take anyone more than a grade-schooler to see that all they do is look in the bags for obvious items and it's not a safety thing.

Trust me, if someone wanted info about security and wanted to do harm at WDW they wouldn't be coming here, LMAO. Again, the bag check is not state secret information, if you called Disney they'd explain it just like it was here, sans the reasoning behind it.

Now back to your regularly scheduled paranoia...LOL.

This is what confuses me : no one has given any information that anyone that hasn't walked into one of the parks just once wouldn't know.

No one here has DETAILED information about WDW security checks. All the "real" security is invisible to guests.

I think it's perfectly natural to want to know what happens when you arrive.

People are over-thinking this one...

I must've. It was hot that day, so I was sweating a smidge... looking a wee-bit guilty. I had had a lot of coffee that morning too, so my eye's were darting back and forth a bit, looking for that "invisible" security Ned mentioned.

I dont think we should tell any more about security procedures here especially if we have more knowledge than the average joe. I am in security and would be suspicious of anyone who wanted knowledge about check points and what will be searched and allowed in.This behavior is very suspicious. I believe these types of questions should be removed from these boards.
I'm with you!

I totally agree with you. My husband is on a business trip and just had his toothpaste confiscated. If it were my first time, I would want to know what could or couldn't be taken in. Lost of people ask what food and drink are allowed and I've heard of people who innocently took beer in their coolers only to have to take it back to their cars or toss it.

Oh for heaven's sake. I'm betting nearly every one of us asked what the security procedures where when they were first implemented. I'm sure we all asked what they were when things changed regarding liquids on planes. Do you honestly think a terrorist is going to ask a bunch of Disney fans how to pull something over on security, in an open discussion forum? I'm guessing they'd probably ask other baddies how to do it, don't you think? :sad2:

OP, you need to open any bags (including camera cases, waist-pouches, etc) you have as you go through security. Then you have a finger scan when you insert your ticket in the machine to go through the turnstyle.

Have a great time! :)
