I am debating whether to bring a small purse with me or just bring my camera into the parks with me (what DH wants) to avoid waiting in security lines. Here are my questions -
How crowded are the security lines the first week of October (no EMH parks and arriving at or around opening or returning mid-day)? Our last trip was May 04 and everthing was packed.

If I go with just the camera and it's case (just big enough to fit camera, not an acutal bag) will I be able to through the non bag line?

Thanks :)

I wouldnt worry about it at that time. It wont be busy at all and you should go right through.

In July, that would have been a different answer, but not in October. Have fun!

You will still have to go through the security line with a small camera bag. That is what I carried on our trip in April. As I was approaching the security line I would open the 2 zippers & then just kind of held it open for security. It was very quick, never had a wait of more then 1 or 2 people ahead of me.

we started our trip with a camera bag and ended it with everything in my husband's cargo shorts pockets...if you can do with out any bag do it. it is just one more thing to lug around. everyone is differnt but all the junk we thought we had to have we never used once. we take our passes, a tlittle cash chapstick room key cards. that's it! i only took my camera some days..Normally i love to take pix but would rather be "unfettered" at WDW

I would bring what you want. In July I had a very small camera case that had to be checked and it never took long. I didn't find it to be a big deal.

The security lines were not a big deal at all when we went. They moved very quickly and we didn't have any problems at all. I had a small purse and both my boys had small belly pouches.

Good to hear that the lines are moving smoothly. Last May and the Aug before that it took a good 10 minutes, at least, to get through them. DH, who only carries a wallet and Pal Mickey, hated to wait for me to get through.
