Is the process any different for the "Early Boarding" line? (jetblue)
FYI I flew out of Orlando last month. I had extra speed from Jetblue. The extra speed line was just as long as the regular line. It took me almost an hour to get through security at 6 am. They were doing this dopey thing half way through the security line. There was a TSA person with a touch screen that had an arrow on it. You touch the screen and the arrow said which way you were to go in the line. There was hardly anyone in the line to the right but the screen was telling everyone to go to the left.
I had early boarding at Logan but since I changed my flight, and did standby, I wasn't able to use it there. I did use it at MCO and it worked out great.
You bypass the major standing in line, but there usually isn't a special designated scanner for this line. You get into the line, get to the TSA person more quickly to get your boarding pass scanned, and then join the existing line for the actual scanner/conveyor belt.
I had a very short wait at MCO....of course there were all the dirty looks I got from those in the regular line! I think it took me a total of about 15 mins, start to finish, maybe a bit less.
