Security hours

So, the last time we were at Disneyland (Sunday, December 4) the east side (Toy Story lots and Harbor hotels) side of security didn't open until 7:30 am. Disneyland opened at 8:00 and DCA had EMH starting at 7:00. So, I'm thinking the west side security had to have been open earlier for DCA EMH.

With the new expanded secure area and places like Starbucks in DTD opening much earlier, is the east side security opening earlier as well? Or is DTD inaccessible from the east side until close to park opening?

I recently asked the same question because we have a breakfast reservation at the Grand at 8am but the parks don't open til 10 and we are coming from the Harbor Side. Someone said they start staffing it at 530am when Starbucks in DtD opens. I'd love to hear anyone else's experiences though.

I'm so glad you asked this! We are coming from WA in April and always like to get into DTD early and hit the Jamba Juice for oatmeal. I hope they would open up security when DTD opens!

I have read west side opens at 5 am. When Starbucks opens.
