Security gate at DVC HHI?

We own eoy at Marriott on HHI. We are looking for a resale at DVC on HHI in the future but have never even seen anything of the resort but pictures. Is there a security gate that would keep us from walking the property? I would like to see it before we buy.

Yes, there is an un-manned security gate. But all you need to do is park at the Shelter Cove shopping area and walk past the marina there onto the Disney property.

Thanks so much. We are eventually wanting to add DVC points at HHI to complement our eoy Marriott. We are heading down next week without kids so thought it would be a great time to check it out.

we LOVE DVC HHI. we are not members there but are headed back in may for our third visit. its the most relaxing disney vacaiton we ever have. the resort is really nice. I love the beach house and I get to sit on the porch in a rocking chair and read, sleep in, ride bikes and just plain relax!!!!! (and my DD loves the pool and the beach! and trying to find Shadow)

We own at HH DVC, but before we buy any more pts there we will look into a resale timeshare from another company somehwere on the island. In the little bit of looking around on the www it would seem there are some bargins out there.

We already own eoy Marriotts; Barony on HHI and Grande Vista in Orlando. We trade the Grande Vista mosty but always stay at Barony. We would like to add to our ownership on HHI and thought a point system might be a good option and DVC seems flexible enough to fit our needs.

We love HHI also. It was the first vacation we took that we came back relaxed. It is at the top of our list of favorite places that we have ever been. We are leaving on Sat to stay at Surf Watch. Can't wait as we are getting snowed on here tonite.

HHI is a very nice resort. Very relaxing. My only complaint is beach access. The beach house is about a mile away. As far as the non WDW DVC resorts go I prefer VB just because you walk out and there is the beach. But other than that HHI is a great resort. Our DD loves the pool and bike riding. We definitely love the Rest and Relaxation it offers.

Thanks for the help, guys. We were able to park where you suggested and walk the property. We stopped at the check in and they gave us a property map. We really enjoyed our visit there.

We did find a resale at the Marriott that we already own at and are waiting to see if Marriott exercises ROFR. We are not optimistic. If so, then I have my eye on a HHI DVC contract that I think would get us the points we would need.

Also - if you just buzz the box at the gate and tell them you want to visit the gift shop/look around they will let you in.
