Ok since I've seen a lot of stuff flying about on other forums concerning the new security checks at DLP I've taken some photos

The street vendors, petition girls and every other annoying presence is still there if you

a-Come by RER
b-Come by car and park at the main car park
c-Come by shuttle bus and get off at the station

You can avoid the above only if you walk from your hotel through all the Village then round past the WOD and then go directly into the park.

If you step out of that configuration it's just like before ;)

The queue now to get into Disney Village (you can see the station behind)

Where the old entrance used to be is now the exit (top left of the picture)

When your back is to the WOD you have these railings separating you from the main plaza

Same spot looking left towards the old park entrance which still can be used

005-3.jpg

So with the WOD to your left you can look down and see the Studios

003-7.jpg

Continue towards them and look to your left and you see the entrance/exit to the Vinci parking

Look to your left and you can follow the entrance to the park

Continue straight on and enter the Studios

At the other end of the Village you now have a security check when you are coming from the hotels - one is HNY side and the other is over the bridge coming from NBC

Hth and any questions don't hesitate :goodvibes

Carrie

Great info. I'm confused.... Do you still have to go through security between the parks and the village now?

Not if you don't want to.

You come through the control either near Café Mickey or just before the bridge that leads down the side of EoS or round to McDo and then that's it no more security checks

If you leave the Village area and go to the station say to the shop you have to either re go security into the Village or you go to the old entranc to the Park and go through security there

As long as you stay inside that perimetre set up by the railings you don't re see security all day long :goodvibes

The last picture, the entrance of the studios, has that always been there? I can't remember it :confused3

Yep it's always been an entrance but it wasn't often/always open. You'd normally not notice it as you'd go in through the main park security entrance and then walk round with your back to it to the Studios turnstiles :goodvibes

Thanks carrie.

I know the security is necessary but it can be annoying... This seems a far better way to do it. x

The security as it is done there isn't necessary though that's the thing ..it's just cosmetic

If it was really to be effective they would scan buggies and we would all have to go through dectecteurs like at the airport and Eurostar.

Saying that I agree that what they have done is better than what they had before as it seems to flow a bit faster but it isn't going to make anything safer so it all defeats the object really :sad2:

This is what I always thought... It's only there to make you feel safe. If they needed security, they would have done it differently.

Yes, it was like this when we were there last month, so much better as security at the hotel end (between HNY and Cafe Mickey or bridge between NPB and EoS) is rapid thanks to people arriving in dribs and drabs rather than huge crowds. Walking around World of Disney you are then free to walk to either park. As you pass the Studios first I wonder if this has the spin-off effect of directing more people towards that than before. It was certainly a big improvement, I was really put off returning to the hotel or village during the day before. I mentioned it in the follow-up questionnaire Disney sent as I was so impressed.

Updated with photos 2/9 and still actual today 22/10

The entrance at Disney Village has now been closed

003-8.jpg

So you now have to go in the one they have opened parallel to the Studios and cut back round past everything

005-5.jpg

as the former entrance that is now an exit still refuses to let people through even though it still says Welcome on it :rolleyes1 Saw many people arguing with the security about this

004-10.jpg

You can see one of the Village security check points up there coming in from the HNY end ..it's that hideous green plastic tent

008-5.jpg

And here's the other at the end of the bridge from Eos/McDo going towards Newport Bay

I understand the necessity for security however in August I was quite angry about the while new set up!

We had left the sequoia lodge on our last day and we were heading to the baggage room at guest relations.
We had 2 suitcases and a backpack and a handbag between us. Up until this point I had loved the new arrangement as I never brought a bag with me as my (now ex) boyfriend used to put all we needed in his pockets so we used to just glide through.

So we got to the bag check at HNY and the security guards started to talk amongst themselves. Then one said that we had to go with him to get our bags x rayed. So off we went following him through the village and out the exit across the area where the vendors are and then when we got to the queue to get back in behind the barrier he just said sorry and walked off. I was under the impression that he was going to bring us to the top of the queue but he just walked off. The whole process took 30 minutes! And on our last day 30 minutes was very valuable!

This will be my first time at DLP so I don't fully understand what all this is about, so please excuse my ignorance and if someone could clarify for me. So we are staying at Sequoia Lodge, with this new setup, we walk beside the lake, past New York Hotel and then we will have to go through a security check to get into the Disney Village area, but once through here we are free to go into either park without having to go through security again, is that it? Does this mean that if you want to come out of one park for lunch in the village and then park hop to the other park you don't have to go through security as the whole area including Disney Village is now enclosed with security fences? :yay:

If it doesn't change again that's exactly what it means :thumbsup2

Thanks Carrie, although I've never been before that sounds like a good idea, can't wait now, we leave on the 27th November, coming from Australia with a stop over in Singapore, soooo looking forward to it. Been to Disneyland California and we are huge WDW fans so can't wait to see DLP. We have 6 nights at SL then we move into Paris for a week, then we pick up a car at Versailles and drive around for 3 weeks ending in Nice. Then its on to Italy for 2 weeks. This is a celebration for my son finishing high school and moving onto University and my daughter will be turning sweet 16 while we are in Versailles. We are planning a celebration lunch for her at Auberge as she loves the disney princesses, & for my son its a celebration dinner with the characters at Inventions. :dance3:
