There will be more than 1 computer with us this trip. And the safe may not be able to contain all of them.

So could use suggestions how to secure a laptop in the room. I was thinking of locking it in the suitcase.

Your thoughts?

THanks

If the search function is working again, you'll find several identical threads to yours. Most give the same recommendations:

1. NEVER leave a computer locked in the trunk of your car. The Florida heat will destroy it, or it could be stolen.

2. A full size lap top won't fit in the safe. Some Ipads won't either.

3. Some folks lock the computer to a handy object in the room.

4. Some put it in a drawer under clothing.

5. Some put it in their suitcase.

6. Some put it in the laundry bag/hamper.

7. Some just leave it out in plain sight.

Yes, you will get lots of opinions on this. Personally, we had two laptops, and left one plugged in and on the table with just a newspaper over it for the entire week we were there. The other one was in its case on the floor next to the table in plain view and never bothered.

A word of advice if you are taking multiple electronics - pack a power strip and an extension cord.

1) When was the last time we heard of a computer theft at WDW?
2) Just hide it in plain sight.

You can get a security cable from a computer store and secure it to something like the leg of the desk.

I have never had a problem leaving my laptop in the room on the table in plain view.

Locking it in your suitcase sounds like a good idea if you are afraid of it getting stolen.

Get a pad lock for your luggage. There is no way anyone can get into your luggage, unless the mouskeeper breaks into it.

It should be taken down to the front desk for the concierge to put in the house safe.

I usually either:
1. Leave it plugged in on a counter
2. In a drawer under some clothes
or
3. In its carrying case leaning up next to a dresser/table/whatever out of the way.

If you aren't comfortable leaving it out, I would suggest just covering it with clothes in a drawer or suitcase or something.
