Just bid on Priceline and secured a mid-size through National with in terminal pick-up/drop-off for 4/10-4/18 @ $18.00 per day. I am very happy with this bid! I first tried to bid for an economy car at 12.00 and was rejected, then selected a compact for my re-bid @ 14.00 rejected. I think I could have been accepted for either one had I just bid a few dollars more. They will tell you what they suggest for a good chance and for a "great chance" at acceptance. Just bid about 2 bucks under this and you should be accepted. I tried to bid about 3-4 bucks under and was rejected. So when I got to the mid-size I decided to just go for it at 18.00 and this is a great rate for this size car and this rental company, especially during spring break! Hope this helps some of you that will be looking to rent a car during this peak time.

Total cost for 8 days mid-size car w/taxes & fees: $198.00

I have a question about car rentals through priceline.

Do you get to choose an "in-terminal" rental option. Normally I would not care but we have to drop the car off at 4:30 am and I really don't want to go off site.

Right now we are paying 34.00 a day for a compact through National with husband's Fed-Ex discount.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Kathy,

Priceline does not offer this option. You get what you get. But in your favor is the time of drop off (we are dropping off early as well) and I read this is taken into consideration when shopping your bid. So I would suspect you'd have an excellent chance at getting an in-terminal agency due to your drop off time as they must be able to accommodate you. I'd give it a shot if I were you, but you must be prepared to accept, if it's not exactly what you want.

Good luck

Hertz is off site and open 24 hours. Taking the shuttle at any hour is a breeze with them. You will probably have to take your luggage with you since curbside usually doesn't open until 5 AM. We use them all the time.

Thanks so much for all the help.

My husband really did not want me to do it but I did it anyway.
It makes him nervous.

I put in for a compact for our three days April 6 - 9 for 18.00 and day and it was not accepted. I then changed the price to 21.00 and went up to a midsize. It came back and said check in fifteen minutes they were still looking.

I checked and got the midsize for 21.00. I was surprised! This is really fun, like bidding on e-bay.

This is such a last minute trip I really don't want to spend lots of money. Our high school band is playing and the directors really wanted me to go.
Thanks,

Kathy

I just got $125/week from National using a Contract ID number from Mousesavers. The best from Dollar right now, even with codes is $134. :scratchin

Tried to reserve at National on our Emerald Aisle membership, but the date is still too far away. Does anyone know if I'll have any trouble adding the EA later?
