Hey! Alot of people have been wondering how their trade thread can be a successful way to sell or buy an item. Well wonder no more! I am going to reveal the top seven secrets to keeping your trade thread at the top!
No.1 Always update your thread
People want to see items added or edited on trade threads that makes it seem as though you are an organized trader which most people appreciate. Also when you update your post goes further up remember to update only accoring to DIS guidelines.
No.2 Pay attention
If you can see other DISers threads and see what they are trading and being offered you could make your very own trade thread with that item in order to receive similar offers of interest.
No.3 Take pictures
People use pictures as visual confirmation that you have the item and with such assurance you can wrangle better offers. Some people are being very smart and making window shopping threads here you view pictures and offer on what you like. Basically like having a trade room in VMK and on the DIS!
No.4 Bumping and Icons
Bumping is an easy way to get your thread to the top of the list. Remember to bump while adhering to the DIS guidelines. You can also use icons. Icons are a nice way to distinguish your thread from others for a trade thread I reccomend using the green arrow or smiley face.
No.5 Be polite
When you are given a less than generous offer all you have to do is say sorry no thank you and you can get members to come back with even better offers.
No.6 Wants list
Make sure that you tell DISers eactly what items you are interested in. The best way to d this is by using the first post to say what you are trading and wishing to receive.
No.7 PM's
Private messages are often used in trading threads by users who do not want to publically address what they are offering, for fear that someone may steal their offer or add to it and win the item you are trading. The best way to get PM offers is to say in the first post that offers may be posted or PMed.
