I know there are loads of Disney secrets out there.

Are there any U.S. secrets to look for?

Any special trick you have found?

Any little know trivia that would impress the friends we are going with:rotfl:?

Any helpful hints that would make our visit more enjoyable?

We are going in August. There will be 4 adults and 6 children ranging from ages 2 - 10. We are staying on-site.

Thanks

I've heard that in the Spiderman ride there's a phone number printed on a closed building that, if you actually phone, says that the building has been closed due to Dr Octopus :rotfl:

A couple of things at IOA:

1. Take your time when walking through Port of Entry, and examine/admire the decorations. The theming is incredible!

2. There are 2 paths through Suess Landing: The main one that most people use; and one that runs behind the shops, near the central pond. This second path is less travelled and is has some interesting decorations along it.

Not really a secret, but a cool piece of trivia that I read on All Ears, and a reason that I love the attention to detail in Seuss Landing:

There are no straight lines in Seuss Landing since Dr. Seuss never drew straight lines. The curved palm trees were the result of Hurricane Andrew and were brought up from South Florida.

Looked at the secrets site reall quick and didnt go all the way thru.

One of the things I noticed, that the numbers over the fire station(on the outside of the bldg) where the queue line for Twister goes thru (formally Ghostbusters) says 89Engine89.
The numbers are authentic for a New York City engine company.(Engine 89 is in the Bronx with Ladder Comapany 50 sharing the same bldg.) The "89"refers to the year that US was supposed to open.( I think there was a delay in opening due to tech issues.I know nothing worked right the year it opened.I was there. We got free passes to come back the minute you walked in the door.)Also, there is a Battalion Chief listed on the glass as commanding officer. The commanding officer in a NYC firehouse is a Captain, assigned to the unit there. If there is more than 1 unit in the sta, there is a senior Capt that has ultimate responsibility for the station, and 3 lts, that work when he is off.The other unit will have the same officer staffing, 1 Capt and 3 lts. There will never be 2 Capts or 2 Lts working at the same time. There will always be 1 and 1 to avoid conflict. The Battalion only borrows the station as a place to do paper work, and occasionally sleep.

I do remember seeing that in a special when Seuss Landing was being considered. His wife was brought in to authenticate alot of attractions in Seuss landing, to make sure that Universal got it right. She gave the ultimate OK for everything there. The original palm trees did come from south Florida courtesy of Andrew, but some of them are now grown that way. I saw some that had ropes attached to help them grow in a certain direction.

A not so "secret" short cut from IOA to US. Go behind the Hard Rock Cafe', where the Blue Man Group is & you can enter US through the turnstile there. There usually aren't any lines.. :thumbsup2

There is also another not so "secret" short cut from over by LaBamba to the ET area. Instead of walking all the way up the path near "Central Park" and turning right, turn into the Hotel Villa's and walk that path, you come out near the fast food stand & the store.
