We have the secret porthole room booked for June 12-16 2005.
We are in room 5520---has anyone stayed in this room and if so, how is the view--is it very obstructed? Thanks for any info!!!

We stayed in 5520 last NOvember. The view is not very obstructed. There are a few of the barrels that hold the liferafts at the bottom of the window. Otherwise it is a clear view. Only problem we had with the room (slight) was that we missed the "blue box" for clothes storage.

We have stayed in 5520 on the Wonder and Magic and have it booked again for this August on the Magic. We absolutely love the room and it's location. We can't imagine staying in any other location on the ship. 5520 and 5020 has the least obstruction, but all the SPR's are a wonderful deal. I'm sure you will be very happy - enjoy!!!

Thank you both for your replies!!! But one question--what is a blue box? We have never cruised, so this is a totally new experience for me....Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

We just stayed in 5520 last week. It was great. View had some obstruction but it wasn't bad. I'd request it again.

My in laws stayed in 5520 last August and i am staying in 5520 this coming cruise in November. 5520 and 5020 are the BEST secret Porthole rooms than the other 4. They have the least obstructed view of all the SPR views.

I have been on the Disney Cruise 3 times and i myself not sure what the "Blue Box" is. I am curious what it is too.. The only thing i am thinking is the trunk like dresser perhaps. And i don't think they have that in the Cat 8 room, i don't remember now. I remember in the Cat 4 room.

The "blue box" is the steamer trunk that is used for storage. the SPR rooms don't have them (I think all do not, correct me if I am wrong). Most other rooms do, but I have been in cat 9 without. The cat 4 steamer trunks are larger than the others. They are nice to have, but not having one won't keep me from trying to get the SPR.

The only SPRs that do not have steamer trunks are 5020 and 5520. The other four SPRs have them.

We have 5020 booked for Nov. 2005. Does this room have a split bathroom - does anyone know?

:Pinkbounc Oh how cool!!! How old are you kiddos? I have a 6 yr old son (he will be 7 then) who will be with me. We are so excited--it is our first cruise!!! We are staying at the CBR from the 5th to the 12th...Are you staying the in parks before? Its nice to finally hear from someone who is on the ship too---I was beginning to think I was alone...(I know--haha)

Most definatly does. Been there, used it (both sides).

There will be 4 of us on the cruise, me, DH, DS (12 when we sail) and DD (10 when we sail). Can't wait to meet you and your DS!

Yes, all SPRs have split bathrooms. In fact, all category 10 through category 4 staterooms (with the possible exception of accessible staterooms) have split bathrooms.

Hope you enjoy 5520 -
we had all 3 SPR's in Jan 03 - 5520 is by far the most desired. It's 'tucked away' down a hall way so it's a little quiter. Great location!

I am so happy to hear this, we have room 5520 booked for our 8/28 cruise, we tried to upgrade to a verandah last week BUT there aren't any verandah's available. And after reading about the sewage smell I was almost ready to cancel.

So I am glad to hear everyone was happy in 5520!!!
